Is there a particular booking agent for Buzz? How many of you are booked with him in the next couple of years and for what? Has anyone done the fly camps in Zim with him? I've read some of the hunt reports (and have his excellent DVD). I sure would like to talk to a few of you about your experiences. Thanks. _______________________________

As far as I recall, Buzz and Myles don't use booking agents. I booked with them directly: http://www.cmsafaris.com/

Their email address is: buzzandmyles@cmsafaris.com. If Buzz and Myles are out hunting, Carla will likely reply. I did a hunt report (which you probably read already): REPORT - CLICK HERE Many on the forum have hunted with Buzz and Myles and had great experiences, but feel free to call/email if I can answer any questions.

I had the good fortune of having dinner with Buzz and Myles in Dallas this year. Was so impressed I booked a buffalo/sable safari with them for this November. Then after watching Buzz's video, I added a tuskless to the list. Unfortunately my oldest daughter developed some very serious medical problems that required me to take off from work several weeks, depleting the vacation time earmarked for my safari. Buzz was very accomodating with regard to rescheduling my safari for June of 07. Technically by the contract, he did not have to do that given my cancellation was within 6 months of the safari, but was very understanding. Since I have yet to hunt with them I cannot comment on their PH skills, but I can comment on their character....top notch!

Thanks for that info. That confirms everything I have heard about his ethics and character. To me, the relationship with the PH is the most significant aspect of the entire experience. If you stack up the game but don't like your PH then it hasn't really been a successful hunt. _______________________________

I have been back home for about 4 days from my last hunt with the famous Elephant Man Buzz Charlton. I had a great non-trophy Bull hunt in Omay and hunted Sable in Kwekwe. Buzz and crew are the greatest and they are all great hunters. You will come away with a hunting memory that you will never forget. If you would like additional info. you are welcome to call me at 1-800-426-1919,ask for dangerous dave. p.s. I am also in the video. If your parents didn't have any children chances are you won't either.

I need to give a big thank you to those who spent some time on the phone with me today answering questions...Bill Campbell, Dan McCarthy and John Kirlin. I'll be calling Dave too. Thanks guys. It's very helpful to hear your stories and comments and I'm sure I'll need more advice in the future. All of you were very generous with your time. Thanks again. _______________________________

I just reurned from a 14 day elephant and hippo hunt in Chewore with Myles McCallum. I had a wonderful hunt--everything went like clockwork.Accommodating, professional, and friendly.Myles and Buzz are for real. I killed a 55# bull and got to back up on a wounded crop raider the next day. I also killed a 26" hippo bull in the Zambezi River and enjoyed a great day Tiger Fishing.I will hunt with them again.

Just wondering.... did most of you take the charter flight or drive to camp?? ______________________

That's a good question. I think most of the people I have talked to were driving and using the charter money for trophy fees. _______________________________

That is one school of thought and thats what we had talked about doing. On the other hand a 7 hour, plus, drive after flying that far don't sound like a lot of fun either. ______________________

No doubt. It depends alot on how many are in your party. If it was just me with no one to share the cost, I would pay the $400 roundtrip car fare vs. the $1400 charter (not sure if that is one way or RT). _______________________________

I chartered out to Chewore in a 206 and drove back with Myles and the troops.Good either way, but I probably enjoyed the drive more.

I would probably enjoy the drive more too, especially if the PH is with you. I get my fill of small plane rides in rural Alaska. No big thrill there. I'm still not understanding if the flight is $1300 round trip or one way. What does "return" mean? Sounds like a one way. _______________________________

Bryan - the $1300 average would be both ways. I drove twice to the Valley, ~8-10hrs depending on exact concession and camp, although we came through Dande to get to Sapi and Chewore North, so I would think Dande North would be around 8hrs assuming May on.

Thanks Bill for the clarification. I talked to Buzz about fly camps but didn't realize it costs him $1000 in permits to place each fly camp. So that is out. As to Dande North, I'm sure he'll pick whatever is best for the time of year. Might be elsewhere. Looking at the first 2 weeks of next June. _______________________________

It will take you about 6 1/2 to 7 hours to get to Dande. ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. "return" is African for "round trip". I have chartered into Dande North and driven from Dande North to Harare. It is about 7-8 hours (best as I recall). I enjoyed the drive, but the charter certainly is a time saver. Plus you can set up front with the pilot, put on a the other headphones and catch up on all the latest gossip. This season we are doing the return charter to Dande North/Harare. Regards, Terry Msasi haogopi mwiba [A hunter is not afraid of thorns]

Thanks Terry. I wondered if "return" meant something else. Makes sense. PM to Will. _______________________________
