Does anyone know who/where to get reservations inside the park?
We have a PG hunt scheduled for 3-10 July and plan to visit Etosha for several days after the hunt. The folks making our travel/accomodation arangements in Nambia said that Etosha is booked up for July. They said the "Big Tour Companies" purchase big blocks of reservations.
Any help or advice appreciated.

Go to www.natron.net Click on the English version, and click on Tour Operators. Hope this helps you out.

One tour company that I have heard good things about in Namibia is The Cardboard Box. Here is a link to their website for lodging in Etosha http://www.namibian.org/travel/lodging/northern_accommodation.html and another http://www.namibian.org/travel/lodging/etosha.htm

I have read that July is usually booked up by January so you shouldn't wait.

Logic,

Go to your safari operator he should be able to arrange something for you or at least point you in the right direction. A park tour at the end of a safari is a very common add-on to a hunt.

We visited Etosha after our hunt, and it was just great!
I think you`ll need to be early on for booking rooms. That`s the information we got before we went. We drove around in a rented car, and camp site is always availabel.
We did actually rent a room just for one night, to get a good bed and a shower (we needed it!), and it worked out easily.. But maybe we was lucky.. Not sure..

All,

Thanks for the feedback.
I used your suggested contacts and have sent off a few emails inquiring about accommodations in the park. Hopefully I will get some good news soon.

Mark,

We are dealing with people that were reccomended by our safari outfitter. They have made all of our arrangements after our PG hunt. They have been very, promt, courtious and profrssional. They were able to handle everything we needed except in park accommodations. If they could not get the reservations, there may not be available at all.
I knew there was a vast amount of knowledge and experience of all things Africa here on AR, so I posted hoping for a lead.

Again, thanks to all who responed.
