I was just at Home Depot picking up some tile grout and miscellaneous supplies, such as reflector floods for my recessed lights and some heavy-duty speaker wire.

Right above the latter were two different voltage converters. Any of you heading to Africa and in need of an inexpensive voltage converter can find one there for less than $9. It's fairly lightweight and compact -- about the size of two packs of cigarettes stacked atop each other.

All the various adapters, including one for RSA, are built in, thus nothing to misplace; just push the button for the right country and the proper prongs pop out. I made sure to check the RSA one, which has two large round prongs and an the plastic ground jobbie just like the more expensive converter I bought two years from Radio Shack. -TONY

In camp I don't know what they will have hooked to the generator. I have seen a normal power strip which takes the US plug (might still need a converter as I'm not certain what voltage comes off of the generator).
