A buddy and I made it to Big "D" for the Dallas Safari Club soiree. Staying at the Comfort Inn with all the AR folks. Have met several members already. Really a good collection of misfit adventurers - like myself!
The convention is absolutely huge. Outfitters everywhere, monster trophy animals on display and lots of related vendors. I met with the group from Long Grass who sell safari related clothing. I had purchased some stuff from them last year for my trip but did it over the phone. Some very nice people. Saw my outfitter and his wife - Phillip & JoAnne Bronkhorst with PB Safaris. Great to see them again. They just had their first child, Christian, and so I know they are on cloud nine! Got to visit with Wendell Reich and he put us on a really good lead for a safari. Will be getting together with him again. Visited with Palmer this morning at breakfast. Heck of a nice guy. These are just a couple of folks that I have seen their name but never met.
We are getting ready to head back to the convention center. We only saw a third of it yesterday and that was while wearing boots. Today it's gonna be in tennis shoes! lol Looking forward to meeting some more AR folks this evening.

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

I went by for a couple of hours last night and hope to hit it for the third time tomorrow. I met ForrestB and Ivan Carter last night. Long Grass is on my list but I was there so late last night I did not see too many people.

I had a great time! Saw lots of old friends and met a bunch of folks from AR. Needless to say I had a great time. Had to leave Friday evening to come pick up a rifle and get ready for a hunt.
