It is my understanding that one of the major contributing factors in Delta's decision not to ship the big five trophies was an on line petition from frequent flyer members. Perhaps it is time for this forum, or better yet SCI to build a petition from their members saying that if Delta does not reverse it's position that we will no longer fly Delta any where.

I also wonder where the NRA is during all of this. If the antis succeed with trophy shipments the next will be hunting all together and then all of our firearms.

It is more likely that the signatures on the on-line petition were gathered by the group below. It claims to have gathered close to 400,000 signatures to ban trophy shipment on airlines:

Or we can just send them an e-mail from hundreds of flyers, such as the one I sent below:

Dear Sirs:
I have flown Delta or your companion airline KLM to Africa for several years for hunting trips to Tanzania. This year will be my last time. Your kneejerk reaction in banning the importation of trophies on your airline and the total capitulation to the shrill animal rights movement does nothing for the conservation of wildlife anywhere. Instead of overreacting to the situation, it would behoove your airline to take a moment and look at the facts before you act. It might help to read the following article in yesterday’s NY Times of all places (Delta is mentioned).
Take care,

Sorry, but the petition signed from a bunch of broke ass bitches that can't afford a plane ticket carries more weight.

Delta is a pure profit maximizing business and its management (former Northwestern guys) are very shareholder return driven.

They did not get on this cargo ban cause they are animal rights activist or anything - they got on it cause not being on it would carry bad publicity with more people/customers than offending very few hunters.

I bet a lot of hunters offended will still get on a delta plane because it is the only flight, it is better flight than something else, it is cheaper or they have delta skymiles.

As a delta shareholder all I want from management is to is maximize long term profits and return capital back to me. If more money is made by preserving brand franchise versus not carrying big 5 trophies then stop carry big 5 trophies.

I could not disagree more with that conclusion.

I was referring to Beretta 682e.

As far as democracy sucks - well, same comment.

Traveling international or even domestic will get very difficult - DAL, AAL and UAL all have banned trophy transport.

It ain't democracy its economics. UAE is not a democracy - Emirates will not fly trophies.

Airlines have franchise value in - cargo shipping companies have a different kind of business model.

Its business nothing more.
