Yes, have experienced Woodleigh 350grn solids and found they have excellent penetration with a velocity of around 2350fps.

Hi I am going to Zim the 19. using 350 gr. Woodleigh RN and FMJ, loaded to about 2300 ft/sec and the same point om impact at 50 meters in my 375 H&H.
I used 62 grain Norma 202 both for RN and FMJ and there were no sign of high pressure or problems at all.

There is a very extensive thread on the Big Bore forum on this topic. Currently it's on page two and is titled "350 grs in 375 H&H mag."

Shot a buffalo a month ago 4 times (3 broadside) with the 350 grain Woodleigh Solid. All went clean threw and were not recovered. They shoot very accurately in my rifle.

The 350's will be my choice when I go chasing buff. Likely the 450's in my 416 as well. Both softs and solids of both calibers have proven accurate in both my rifles. The 350's in the 375 are really accurate and share POI for softs and solids at 100 yards.

BTW, 2350fps is easy to get with these bullets. Start with 69gr. H4350 and work up to 72gr. That should get you somewhere between 2300 and 2350.

My max load was 67gr RL15 for 2375fps and 1/2 inch groups at 100 yds.

Which primer were you using? My 375 loves R15 with 300 grainers, so I'll have to try it with the 350's.

Did you use the 350g Woodleigh Protected Point for your first shot or did your PH want you to stick entirely with solids?

Thanks, I've loaded the 350g Woodleighs in my 375 H&H too using H4350. Only shot targets so far though ...

I know I'm probably preaching to the big bore choir here and the subject of the discussion is the 350 grain Woodie solid which by the way is great for the 375, BUT any premium soft point 300 grains and greater is far better buff medicine for the first shot. A PREMIUM soft point causes much more damage and plenty of penetration (only use solids for back-up).

I have probably used the 350 gr. Woodleighs more than anyone. I love the RN and the PP. softs in 350 gr., probably my favorite soft point bullets on the market today. Although the 350 gr. solids are excellent, keep in mind that a 300 gr. solid will do the same thing as a 350 gr. solid. Most any solid will pass through a buffalo or two.

The best solids today are the GS customs flat nose solids and they kill quicker than the RN solids..
