Folks,

If you remember a few weeks back I posted an add for a PAC bull hunt conducted in NW Zim by our own Dean Kendall. The folowing pics show Dean's camp and the results of the hunt. This was a $7,000 hunt all in. Additional bulls are available.

We can take deposits for next year with the caveat that if for some reason Dean does not get his permits again the deposits will be fully refundable.

Mark

That is a very nice elephant and a great price. Ditto Yukon's thoughts. Where?

Is the pink soap and toilet paper significant?

Yeah, what's up with the pink toilet paper? We have it here in Afghanistan, too. When I asked my interpreter why the TP was pink, he gave me a goofy look and said, "isn't all toilet paper pink?" I guess I should consider myself lucky that we have TP over here, regardless of color. Nice elephant. Lou

Nice setup. Nice ele too!

Why pienk TP? To match the pienk soap, of course! Even in the bush one must show some style!

In good hunting.

Mark - I love a tented bush camp like that, who needs AC and en suite bath with lots of hot water anyway. Especially for the price.

The TP is what caught my eye too, takes me right back...I can feel it now!

These are not "tracking hunts", but night hunts in the fields, correct? Does one want to book over full moon? Exciting I bet.

Dean was the PH on my only hunt in Zim. He is experienced, cool under fire and very competent. Anything he does will be done well.

Folks,

This is a non exportable trophy hunt. It is a night hunt and could be the most exciting and potentially dangerous thing you've ever done. What I think would be a hoot is a 2x1 for 4 bulls. $28,000 all in. You can't shoot one trophy bull for that.

I must apologise! For '09 these hunts will have to go for $8,000 but when you consider you are paying no dip/pack, trophy shipping or taxidermy fees this is one cheap bull elephant hunt.

Dean will have 6-8 permits for '09 so a multi bull hunt is completely possible.

Look at it this way. It's far cheaper overall than a buffalo hunt.

Dean has shot the crop depredation permits for these villages for several season now. These villages are located between Vic Falls and Bulawayo and there is a chance of taking 1 or more big bulls on this hunt.

Hey Mark,

I suppose a hunter could upgrade one of those bulls to a trophy bull if a biggun' was taken??

PD,

Exactly! Dean had one trophy permit this year and might have one next. In that case for a $12,000 trophy fees plus $8,000 for the hunt you could export a trophy and there is a definte possibility of taking a big bull. $20,000 for an exportable bull is still way cheap.

Sounds exciting and it's certainly cheap enough. If you were to book 1x1 for all 4 hunts, you might have some gray hairs at the end of your time. Take extra underwear!
