Ouch, that would ruin your day. I was flying out of Ketchikan Alaska in 1997 and the jet taxied all of the way down to the end of the runway and then all the way back prior to take off. As we're all sitting there wondering why, the pilot announces over the PA that he had to taxi to the end of the runway to run a bear off of it prior to takeoff.

Looks like a good reason to open Keyna back up to hunting.

Someone should have told the pilot he's supposed to stop at a zebra crossing !!

One of the areas we use had a giraffe walk out in front of a landing aircraft two years ago.......result one plane written off and a giraffe that lost his head.

I've also had a couple of close calls of this type in recent years.......The last one was with a herd of impala that walked onto the runway just as we lost flying speed.

Someone sent me this pictures, but I know nothing about them. I assume they were taken in Kenya, as the zebra appears to be a Grevy's?

Anybody know anything about this?

In TZ in '92 we had to buzz two warthogs off the runway...I guess we should have been issued a ticket for disturbing the piece!
Got my attention!

Last year, a plane came in to land at a bush strip and a topi that was about 300 yards from the strip decided to intercept the plane! Luckily, the plane had already touched down and slowed down enough when the topi connected with the propeller! Ouch! Not much damage to the plane other than a twisted propeller which was not even serious enough to prevent the plane flying all the way back. not so for the Topi

The Game scout was wandering whether or not to enter the topi on the clients' license
