I just litterally bumped into him leaving the resteraunt aftdr dinner. Gosh that guy is fat. He should do something about his weight problem.

I figured it would be OK to post his name here in this forum because he does look like an elephant and has the brains of a warthog. I will refrain from any hunting comments.

Most Excellent comments, LV Eric! Hope you stayed up wind of him! And be sure to wash thoroughly if you made actual physical contact. I hear tomato juice works well to cut the odor.

As I was walking towards the door to leave he steped back right into me. I weigh 255 and didnt stand a chance. He was standing with a group of people near the front enterance waiting to be seated.

The real sad thing was the look on all the peoples faces(8 or9) that he was speaking to. They all looked like kids talking to Santa. This guy here in LA has so much creditability its down right scary.

When I first saw him after the crash the first thing that crossed my mind was AR and all the hunting video's.

RIP its nice to see you brother.

Does MM have a following amongest thinking Americans or is he more of a liberal Jeery Springer type attraction quality .... what I really mean has he got a solid following or is it only the lower life shit stirrers whom are in his pocket as they dont have any other outlet for their anti establishment views ..

Hope that I have not offended anyone just that I feel those types of people dont actually contribute to the betterment of society in general

That guy is a true asshole, but I wouldn't call him dumb. With a few well worded lies, and a 'rebel' image he has made himself a whole big pile of money and people think he is a god!! Didn't he win something at Cannes this year (don't blame the French for this, everyone loves him in Europe)...he came here to Edinburgh and every university student flocked to him like he was some kind of idol. I wouldn't piss in his mouth if his face were on fire (was going to go to his seminar to tell him that, but would rather spend the on more appealing objects)

Same in Sweden... Even in many educated circles, if you regard Moore an arse-hole, you are seen not only as right-wing nut but as manipulated by the weapon industry as well.

He is seen as The One who tells The Truth, an everyman's version of Noam Chomsky.

By the way Boghossian, I am suprised that someone who ought to write the Queen's English use the word "ass" in this way... What do you make of the passage in the Bible where it is said that Balaam's ass spoke to him?

Martin

Like most of his ilk, MM sees the truth as an impediment to his agenda to be twisted to fit his view of how the world should be. I refuse to subsidize him by paying to see his trash.

A few years ago, a friend who had a videotape of MM's first movie, Roger and Me, played it for me. He thought it was funny. I didn't enjoy it, since the agenda was all too obvious.

I think Moore should go spend time in a country like China where they don't take this kinda crap too lightly, maybe they'll even bill his family for the cost of the bullet they use! If he hates his country so much, why doesn't he leave??
P.S. I was taught English by Americans Marterius, so I use 'ass' in the anatomical sense rather than the asinine sense Speaking of which, he's butt-ugly too!!

Some claim that part of MM moves were staged? Any news about this in USA.

Balla-Balla I agree big time! I cannot wait for these self-righteous d***ks to get into the real world where people don't sent you cash just for being their kid! Once they have to pay bills they won't bother the hardworking people who work in power plants, drive trucks or hunt foxes for a living I am making sure to bring a nice trophy or two from Ireland this fall so the facts of life will look down at people from the walls!
P.S. There are a few decent people here! (especially after you take me out of the picture ) but the old boys in the 'countrysports society' are so socially conscious and uptight that new members stopped coming

He knows the US has a worldwide image problem and he stirs the pot to line his own pockets. In fact, I would say that he and a few others of his ilk are part of the reason the US is perceived the way it is.

Christopher Hitchens (noted conservative political commentator, of English extraction, I believe) on Michael Moore (please read this with a tone of dripping irony):

"But speaking here in my capacity as a polished, sophisticated European as well, it seems to me the laugh here is on the polished, sophisticated Europeans. They think Americans are fat, vulgar, greedy, stupid, ambitious and ignorant and so on. And they've taken as their own, as their representative American, someone who actually embodies all of those qualities."--from an appearance in May, 2004 on American conservative television talk show "Scarborough Country."

How funny is that?

Moore is a typical pseudo-intellectual, so-called "liberal" elitist, who is certain that he knows better than you do what is best for you in every sphere of life.

He is perpetually agitated, though, because he can't (thank God) dictate policy, but is reduced to the role of a laughably transparent, radical chic gadfly.

The shame is that too many people, most of whom (1) have a truly limited capacity for critical thinking or (2) share his warped agenda, are all too willing to accept and promote his lies and propaganda at face value.

People like Moore do not need truth and logic. As they are so far above it (in their own minds).

It's amazing with these "egaliterians" that they all see themselves aa superior to the common masses and a member of a elite master race destined to rule.

I am fairly certain that Moore is catering for the Europeans (and others) that like to feel smart and need something to bitch about, once he's gone someone else will arise. Hopefully the next pork chop won't mess with gun rights!
Oh and I wouldn't worry about college students being affected by him, we are supposed to be the most politically apathetic generation in, well generations. So apart from bitching on about things, I don't expect long term damage to come from this.

Believe me I have seen more of his ilk go down in flames on that show....

It absolutely amazes me that this asshole has become so wildly successful. To further what NitroX said, here is a guy who plays the ordinary man whilst telling everyone what a blundering idiot the ordinary man is. But his success is almost exclusively restricted to the "elite". Liberal elites invariably think they're the only ones intelligent enough to pull the poor morons out of the dregs, when it is they who have created the dregs whilst trying to pull the poor morons out. Not amazing is the fact that they're the only ones who don't see the contradiction.

Years ago, I coined a phrase for the Hollywood elitist leftists, who now have orgasms of joy over another leftist who has joined their ranks, with full honors, Michael Moore. He's now a dues paying member-in-good-standing of the Mega Millionaire Marxists and Billionaire Bolsheviks Club.

If anyone here is a betting person, you can bet the farm that this coming Spring, 2005, he will again be voted "Best Original Documentary Screenplay, by the Writers Guild of America, and will receive another Academy Award for same.

Two things:

1) Attacking someone personally rather than his ideas proves that you are missing concrete arguments against your opponents point of view. This reflects poorly on a person and his credibility.

2) Why all the hate towards MM's documentaries? I don't like the men, but most of the ideas from the first movie are the cold facts! It's not anti-American if you try to expose a problem: some Germans did this in Hitler times and got called 'communists' and 'anti-German', right? Arent we suppose to learn from our mistakes? From what I remember, the movie did not have a conclusion per-se... it was food for thoughts, no? ALL of the common and obvious 'excuses' for a violent America have been exposed as being false:
- mix of ethnicities (aka as the 'too many black folks in America' syndrome)
- Too many guns in America (beloved excuse from what a few of you folks call the 'goddamn liberals' in the North East)
- a few more, etc

As for Canada being a safer place to live, I dunno... I always lived in Canada, so I wouldn't be able to compare the two at face value. Getting ammo in a barber shop: I am sure that if you go north enough in Quebec (my beloved province) you will find this, but nowhere near a city (probably like in America).

It's in the human nature to reject anything that shocks us by being different (think of complete-body tattoos, pro-bodybuilding, inter-racial marriages, etc), but this men's opinion is as good as yours and mine... unless you're in Taliban-land, right? Isn't that why 832 families are grieving in America? Liberty of free speech, religion and OPINIONS?

As for the few European countries that bash America: this is not new, America had to bail them TWICE out of hell. If you were in their place you would probably feel inferior as they feel now, and would probably resort to personal attacks to rehaul your ego They were the center of world's attention 300 years ago, and they just can't get over the fact that they lost that edge for what was once a 'colony'

ggdupuis,

Yes, Michael Moore has a right to his opinion. I just don't agree with his opinion or views on many things. That's politics. I am NOT one that has the mind set of "If you don't agree with me, then you're Anti-American." Michael Moore has a right to his opinion and to freedom of speech.

Unfortunately I think the "new left" in the U.S. likes to think of themselves as the ones that stand up for individual rights, like freedom of speech, but I have my doubts. What I call the "new left" in America has a tendency to denounce and ridicule any view point that doesn't agree with theirs. They think of themselves as superior to anyone that doesn't think like they do. They want to legislate personal behavior to the point of making everyone conform to their views and opinions. Example: ban guns and hunting because they don't like them. That, IMHO, is what makes the new totalitarian left a real threat to individual liberty. Any political viewpoint taken to either the extreme left or extreme right becomes totalitarian. Stalin was on the left, and Hitler was on the right but the end result was a totalitarian state without individual rights in each case.

Be sure to take a look at: http://www.bowlingfortruth.com/

Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive.
---Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (Philadelphia 1787).
http://www.guncite.com/gc2ndfqu.html

This is why I am suspicious of the motives of any politician that is for more gun control. An unarmed populace is a more passive populace at the mercy of their rulers. And rulers want to be secure in their positions of power. Liberals think government is the answer to all problems and, to me, that's the main problem I have with their thinking. The U.S. was founded on a basic, healthy distrust of governmental power.

But, this isn't the political forum, so I'll end my remarks here.

re: gdupuis

Its funny how you can almost always tell Canadians by the wishy-washy way they talk and their spineless attitude. Canada must have more wimps per capita than any country in the world. I wonder if they are born that way or if they lose their balls from living in a socialist country that has never accomplished a single thing of note in its entire existence. Canadian politicians have anti-freedom agendas of such vast proportions they dwarf the likes of Michael Moore who, being born on the border, is mostly Canadian anyway. The head of their democrat-communist party (much like ours) has publicly announced that he will finance anti-gun lobbying in Washington, D.C. so Canadian subjects will be safe from American guns. And we think our border with Mexico is a problem. Mexicans are a civilized people, especially compared with the second-rate almost-Englishmen they breed up north.

By the way, gdupuis, the Germans who opposed Hitler during the war WERE communists.

Hi Leanwolf. How are things?

The sad part about the MM story is that there's a whole bunch of people out there that actually believe in his cause and the ideology that goes along with it. MICE is the acronym for the following factors that cause humans to do what they do:

Money

Ideology

Conscience

Ego

Any guesses what drives MM to do what he does?

To borrow a phrase from a critic of Oscar Wilde about a century ago "He is a six foot tall pile of suet"
Krispy Creme doughnuts present a more immediate threat to him than any gun.

I thought the acronym was MCHF:

The hierarchial order can change from day to day.
If you have money you can generally obtain the rest of the list.

This is mainly because I'm shallow and devoid of the ability to think critically. I do understand one thing; He wants to take my guns away and he wants the US to be more like Montreal and Toronto.
