Saeed's comments and the stuff about M.S. being bandied about reminds me of something Max Lucado wrote. He noticed that being busy at what is important to you often keeps things civil as well.

Growing up in Latin America, Max observed the fishermen (commercial) got into trouble with one another when not working. "When fishermen don't fish, they fight." He, of course, was applying it to fishing for men as Jesus taught.

In the case of AR, I think we get into it with one another because -- we just can't spend very much of your life doing something very important to us, safaris. Being rotten to one another online comes out of frustration more than anything specific. I don't enjoy fighting so employ 'ignore' a bit. It also gives me a reason to log in!

I think you have hit the nail on the head, but there is a little more involved.
People do not know how to be civil any more. Many people lie or make false claims with little or no recourse. Look at the last election and what goes on every day in the national news.

Our society is allowing this at so many levels. It must be ok to lie and steal just look at what goes on in DC. If somebody tells a lie about you,and you were to walk up to them and bloody their nose. They could and most likely would use the court system to take every thing they can from you and the lie would go on.

We are expected to put up with other peoples poor behavior.


Men don't set standards for them selves any more. They prefer to do it the easy way.
The end justify's the means, win at all cost.
There is no honor anymore. Boys are not being raised to be honorable men and are taught to win at all cost. It does't matter how you played the game, only that you showed up.


Issy made a statement about PH's having to shoot being a failed hunt and nose's get bent out of shape. He sets a standard for him self, When he hunts he expects to shoot well enough to do his own killing, any thing less does't cut it. I agree with that!

I read about useing sticks all the time and see it on tv and on DVD.My god they are shooting at animals the size of a vw with the killzone the size of a small wash tubb and can't make a killing shot with out sticks???? They want a follow up shot by the PH so they can take their head home!!!!

They say its because they don't want to lose a animal,It cost to much and or that they don't want it to suffer. I gusess it makes them feel better about not being able to shoot. Its bad enough that we have to have a ph hold our hands by law, The ph does the hunting, all we have to do is the shooting. Its your hunt, man up learn to shoot do your own killing!


Going to Africa does't make you a hunter, Its how you perform when you get there that does.
Going to a war doest't make you a hero, putting on the uniform and doing the job does.

You may not like them , you may not agree with them. Izzy and Mark Sullivan and many others around here know how to man up. They speak their mind, some times crudely, that causes a problem for some. Too many choose to be offended, because somebody else has a different view. If you are offened on the internet its ok to lash back and call names after all nobody will bloody your nose.

Look at shootaway. He has caught hell on here many times. He still had enough balls to come down to Houston for the shoot and hoot, he was not afraid to meet many who often choose to pounce instead of teach. He is a nice man with our passion for big guns and hunting. I meet Izzy at the hoot and shoot He is a ok guy, I like the fact he speaks his mind, I choose not to be affended. You are not going to find a better guy than Mac or Mark cash.I would most likely enjoy MS company also. I am glad to see him come here to speak for him self.

Its funny how in person we all can be civil, but on the internet it to easy to be ass, after all nobody will bloody your nose.
