Have anyone used the South African mad claw bullets, they are suppose to be premium bullets, kind of like Woodleigh. But they are very cheap, only R135 for 50, other bullets like Rhino and Gs are more close to R8 or more. Do they perform good or what.

Cheers

I really don't know if they are the same as woodleigh but if I can get 50 350 grain bullets for my 375 at R260.00 and it's suppose to be better than Hornady then I'll go for them. It works out way cheaper than even hornady. I've just heard about the bullets but I really wonder if anyone has ever tested them ? Maybe it is someone out there trying to make a quick buck ?

In the end of the day if I'm gonna go for big game I'll go for good reliable bullets that has proven it's self but on normal plainsgame it should work great.

Maybe someone else can give us some more insight on this.

So where can one get the woodleigh's for that price? The only ones I can find are from the west coast at 55$ a box. Thanks "D"

Flip,

Hallo ou maat!

The RSA claw bullets compare with the best available. I’ve used/tested them and were impressed. As soon as I get thru my stockpile of current brand premium bullets, I’m changing to the Claws.

I don’t regard the Claws as being significantly better than any of the other premium bullets, but it won’t take much to improve on the admin & distribution skills of the supplier that I’m using currently – and the Claws are a bit cheaper.

Safari-Hunt,

Magnum tested these East London made bullets a few times (They are also made in East London, and I’m not confusing them with Rhino). Call Koos Barnard to find out in which issues the tests appeared.

Andre has been making his bullets since the 90’s, and that doesn’t strike me as someone that’s making a quick buck – given his R & D, and investment in the project, I doubt if it ever was his intention to make a quick buck at the expense of others.

A super day to all.

Thanx Riaan,

For the info on the Claw bullets it is just so wierd. Because for the price he is selling it it is excellent we are currently awaiting some bullets that are in the post should be here by around next week.

We ordered 375 H&H
235
300
350 grainers

300 H&H & winmag
250
180 grainers

303 Brit
215 grain

I'm also going hunting next week so I don't know when I'm going to be testing them. But will post our results as soon as possible. I would really like to try the 350 grainer and maybe try some penetration test on them as well.

BTW have you got a contact e-mail or no. for Koos Barnard ?

You can contact him via Magnum Magazine.

I spoke to a guy at the shooting range a few weeks ago. He is using them on springbuck and is VERY happy with their accuracy and performance.

I will be developing a load with these bullets this summer.

Johan
