FAROUK QURESHI
I just received sad news that long time Tanzanian Professional Hunter FAROUK QURESHI passed away on 23 March at 5pm after a long illness.

Farouk Qureshi was one of the most distinguished Professional Hunters of the 1980's & 1990s in Tanzania.

I knew Farouk and his son Altaff Qureshi (also a Professional Hunter) and offer my sincere condolences to Farouk's family. Rest in Peace Bwana.

Sorry to hear this. He was my PH during my Tanzania safaris, and he did a great job and we had much fun together. Afterwards, I had some contact with his son and knew he was suffering from a chronic illness. May he RIP.

He definitely hunted with Usangu. He was there in 2007 with certainty. I would assume he was there in 2006 as well.

We hunted with"Farouko" in the Rungwa in 2006. He was an avid handloader and great fun to hunt with-except the combination of chain smoking and burning elephant dung that kept his landcruiser in a perpetual fog! He was a good friend. Vaya con Dios, Amigo!

Very sad news. I spent 4 or 5 enjoyable dinners with him at magi moto camp. We enjoyed talking about lion hunting and a few tricks on baiting them. He was a very interesting and informative Person to be around.

I never had the pleasure of knowing Farouk but heard lots of great stories about him from Gerard Miller while I was on safari.
