jdollar20 hours to wheels up!
this time tomorrow i will be getting ready to board the second leg of a loooong trip to the Caprivi via LA, Heathrow, Joburg, Kasane Bots, then 4 hours in a Landcruiser to camp. about 2 full days of travel before the real fun starts. this is my first elephant hunt and have watched all the video/read all the books on shot placement that i can stand. time is near to see if i have learned anything. no matter what, i know i will have a good time- i always do!!!

bwanamrmGood hunting and Godspeed Jerry!
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

MikeEJust got back from the Caprivi last week. You are about to have the adventure of your lifetime! Bring lots of camera chips, you are going to burn them up on the hundreds of elephant you will see!
Who are you hunting with and where in Caprivi?
Master of Boats,
Slayer of Beasts,
Charmer of the fair sex, ......
and sometimes changer of the diaper.....
Hunted elephant in the Caprivi a few years ago, it was pretty amazing. Good luck and have fun.

JungleboyJerry,
I'm sure you will have a great hunt/safari. Karl really works hard to
make sure you get the full experience going after elephant!
Have a safe trip, can't wait to see your hunt report.
Tell Karl "hi" from Jim & Kent.

jdollarthanks for that,Mike. i will always be indebted to you for a suggestion several years back about taking a battery operated fan. it made a huge difference in my ability to get some sleep 2 years ago during my Oct buff hunt with Martin Peters on Lake Kariba. i left it with the PH and bought another one 2 weeks ago for this trip( it will also be left with Karl). little tips like that from the members here are one of the best reasons i know to check here regularly.

MJinesGood luck and enjoy your hunt. Might as well start planning your next elephant hunt because it is virtually impossible to do just one.

LittleJoeGood luck. Travel safe. Just did the SLC to Atlanta to Joburg to Maun and a 4 hour drive to Kanana and it was worth every second of that long couple of days. I would do it tomorrow if I could. Good luck. Enjoy every second.
