So I'm booked for a Lord Derby Eland hunt in Jan '17. Unfortunately I have no access to my reloading equipment or any rounds I've already loaded, long story.
Need recommendations of FACTORY ammo for a 375H&H: brand, bullet, and weight. Not sure how much difference this makes, but for handloads, the rifle grouped best with TSX.

Venture SouthI think that any premium bullet that groups in your rifle will be fine.
Its an Eland, easy to kill even with a 308.
Your shot placement is far more important than anything else so make sure you shoot your 375 well and don't get forced into taking some marginal shot just because the PH says you should.

CaracalLd Eland is not hard to kill. Any bullet will work. I would recommend a bullet that will give you an exit, so for example TSX would be fine.

Factory rounds available with good quality projectiles....A Frame , TSX, Trophy Bonded etc etc

bwanamrmI would consider the Remington Safari line loaded with the Swift A Frame or any of the loads with Barnes TSX bullets. Just find the one that shoots the best.

dogcatI used Federal in 300gr. Nosler Partition. Nearly any soft will work. LDE are not terribly tough to bring down.

FishN4EyesI used 300 grain Federal Swift A-Frame's last year in my .375 H&H.
Worked great. Like they always do.

Steve AhrenbergI shot 13 animals in CAR in 2013, including 2 Buffalo. I shot everything except a Western Bush Duiker with 270 GR. Accubond. The Duiker I used Mike Fell's .22 Hornet. The rifle/ammo performed perfectly. As others have stated good shooting is FAR more important than any other component or decision. In fact, I would venture to guess any bullet of nearly any construction will kill about anything if you shoot it in a proper location. The two buffalo died as good OR better than any Cape Buffalo I've shot with any of my doubles.

cable68Just ordered a box each of with 300 gr NP's and TBBC's as those were the only factory premiums I could source locally. Will probably mail order some TSX, and SAF's, and some accubonds. Going to check to see which my barrel likes best.
I have used 200 gr partitions out of a 300 WM, even took an eland with one in Namibia. Used 300 GR SAF in this same 375, but those were my own loads. I'm not sure I've even fired a factory load out of it.

Use Enough GunI have used TBBCs more often than not on plains game in 13 African Safaris and it was usually DRT. Any of the premium bullets (A-Frame, TBBC, Nosler Partition or Accubond, Barnes, etc. will work with the proper shot)

Steve AhrenbergAfter thinking about your question and reflecting on my experience hunting LDE, I would spend copious amounts of time preparing your body for the possibility of multiple days of long LONG, hot walks. Putting these days upon each other can and will test even the heartiest of souls. I live in Arizona and am pretty fit. Walking in the heat, day after day after day can be difficult. It's hard to stay hydrated and keep your head in the game completely.
We followed the same group for 5 days and killed in the middle of day 5. There is nothing magical about killing an LDE. The magic lies in the pursuit.
Your bullet will be fine.

BaxterBGiven a) the size of LDE and b) your rifle shoots TSX well, your problem seems to be solved. We aren't talking gnats asses here. Do as Steve says and get yer body in shape.

Any of the premium bullets will work fine. Swift A-Frame, Nosler Partition, Trophy Bonded Bearclaw, etc.
If buffalo are also on the menu, the TSX is a good, all around choice.

crbutlerI also used a TSX, but handloaded.
Federal premium with bear claws has worked fine with all game I have shot with it. They also had a 300 grain TSX load, but I am not sure if they still sell that one after Barnes sold to Cerebus.
Another option is to send your reload recipe that works well for you to one of the custom loader folks like Superior and they can load it for you.
As Steve said, the pursuit is the hard part, and you will be walking in the equivalent of summer heat here in the middle of our winter... Likely over ugly ground. Get a hydration system and drink lots. Get some really good boots and break them in before you go out there.

Get a hydration system and drink lots.
Take along 1 sachet, for each hunting day, of electrolyte powder like Rehydrate and add it to 500ml of water to be drunk at the end of each day. I find that hunters that follow this route have much better recovery after long hot days on foot.
Do not add it to every bottle of water you drink, that will do your kidneys harm.
In those conditions you should be consuming at least 3l of water per day.
I always suggest to the guys to do as follows to avoid forgetting. These are 500ml bottles
1 Bottle of water before you head out
1 Bottle of water when you stop for lunch before eating
1 Bottle before you head out again after lunch
1 Bottle when you get back to camp with Electrolyte
1 Bottle just before bed
Drink anytime you feel thirsty through the day, but if you stick to these easy to remember bottles then you will be fine.
I find that even the most dedicated guys forget to drink and end up battling after the 3rd day as your body is simply not clearing toxins fast enough.
