That looks like a bull from yesteryear. Congratulations to hunter, PH and the company.

Simply superb. When you view those size tusks up close you wonder how the hell the animal walked around with those huge teeth!

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Absolutely incredible. I'm certainly no judge of ivory weight, but in my lay opinion I would have thought that was well over 80.

I think that the hunter should be an "unlucky" one because with that size these tusks must have had the biggest nerves of all time to weigh "only" in the 80-plus pounds range. Confused

That looks like one from the "old days". It goes to show, there is still some nice ivory out there given the right time, place, work and luck.

What a bull!
