When filling out the saps 520, it wants both the serial number of the rifle and the barrel. My rifle has it on the receiver, but not on the barrel. Should I worry, have it engraved on the barrel, or simply put the serial number in both columns?

I left it blank and just put the rifle serial number, but have only done it once. There are others here who have done it many more times.

The receiver ser# is all that is necessary.

Yes, all you need the number on the receiver. Did it in 2005 and 2007 with no problems.
