Agree 100%. A guy "in the know" told me they had added almost 200 booths for this year, and are adding another 200 for next year. It is just a great atmosphere there.

Yes we got there for just a little bit Thursday and then most of the day Friday.

I complimented them on the DSC work. One thing they are proud of and should be is that all that work is by volunteers.

Great show. Thanks DSC.

My wife and I volunteered again this year, because we are in the Dallas area. We had a lot of fun, and got to meet some great people in the process.

I ended up with the SCI management team at my table at one of the banquets. They were very friendly and enjoyable dinner companions. There was a sense of friendly rivalry, to be sure, but it was just that: a friendly rivalry. So, yes, it appears they are watching the rear view mirror very closely.

The best was having my annual breakfast date with Rebecca for the life members breakfast. Karl is a lucky man! We both agreed that we married above ourselves.

Fun, too, at the after party on Saturday night. Great band.

Sandy, Emmy and, for the first time, my step-daughter Rachael attended. We enjoyed going out to dinner with Ralf Martini and his crew on Friday night.... After a couple of good beers, I think I obligated myself to have Ralf build me a .300 H&H on a Hagn action. I hope I was dreaming. Big Grin

My wife always looks forward to buying some goodies from Ashley George (Ivan's wife) and seeing all the friends she's made in the past 6 years.

Thank you so much, DSC.

Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the show.
This was the first time I have attended the DSC, having attended SCI for some 20 yrs. By far DSC was a more enjoyable convention. The staff, food, and organization was heads above SCI.

Thank you Karl and staff for making it a great experience!

Best regards, D. Nelson

OH! Also really nice to meet some AR friends that don't attend SCI!!!!

Another great show! Got to visit with Judge G, Jorge, Retreever and Penetrator, sorry I didn't get to make the AR room (too busy putting out fires) other than to make sure it was set up. Cecil, if I'd have known you were there I would have tracked you down. I sincerely hope all that attended had a great time and if there are any complaints, suggestions or constructive criticisms, please be kind enough to make me aware of them. I also hope those that attended will try and make it again next year and for those of you that couldn't or didn't make it, I hope you will consider attending next year...

Karl

Uhoh...left Biebs out, sorry Jon.

Partly right, added slightly over 100 booths but most of them were for existing exhibitors to add booth space. There may be a few booths added next year but, for several reasons, nowhere near 200.

Nice show. Nicely run. Enjoyed it as usual. I hear the food was better, but the last couple of years had me shying away from that.

I saw the bars were more conveniently located this year, but the doctor has me shying away from that.

Nicely done. Had a great time.

Does anyone get the impression that DSC LISTENS to its members?

I like the bit about the volunteers.

Makes quite a difference to those who hold you at ransom.

Well done DSC and all those who are involved in.

Especially the volunteers! beer

DSC does listen. DSC just completed a survey asking members and exhibitors (two slightly different surveys) how we can make their club and show better. Lots and lots of you responded with great information and we thank you for that. Most responses are tracking as we thought
they would.
DSC has the most dedicated volunteers of any hunting organization that I am aware of, you can not imagine how many hours are selflessly given by these men and women to make our show one of the best in the world. One, who is an AR member and wouldn't want me to mention him by name, put in at least 50 hours on the show floor. Many others put in a bunch of hours, too.

Karl's post above about the volunteers is very true but I'm not going to let Karl deflect the praise we all owe him - he put in way over 50 hours including some 18 hour days - all as a volunteer.

Hello To All,

Thank you to all those from AR who visited us at DSC. It was a great show for us. We even have many new customers because of the AR site. While we sell bullets, it is always great to hear the success our products have had with our hunters going abroad and home.

The best stories this year are of how their PH have never heard of NorthFork but after witnessing the bullet performance they are believers and did not want the hunter to leave with their extra ammo. That to us is the best validation of our products.

Again, thanks to all who took the time to come and talk with us. It is always great to put names and faces together.

Regards,
North Fork Technologies

I fully planned on stopping by the AR courtesy room DSC set up for us, but with a trip to the bank (whole 'nother story, but predictable) and everything else, I got totally sidetracked.

Would have liked to have met face to face the AR members I converse with all the time. And Biebs, SRose and others who seem intent on driving me into bankruptcy.

It's a short four days. You can't possibly see everyone you want to -- especially as you get older and the list gets longer.

But this year was very nicely done.

Only criticism: The sound system at the dinner (at least on Friday) was awfully loud. My ears are still ringing. Wait, they were ringing when I got there.

It was a great show and DSC did a great job. I really can't think of what else DSC could do to make the show better. The show seemed very well attended and people were definitely shopping. We had few inquiries about elephant. No surprise there but folks were looking for about everything else. A good show all around.
