Would any of you experienced elephant hunters consider 480 to 500 gr. Woodleigh Weldcore Softs in your 450/470 NE for this big game? It used to be solids only for buffalo, but no more. I am a Premium Soft bullet user for Buffalo and can only wonder about elephant.

I haven't shot any ele, but I would NOT use a soft point on them, at least not a Woodleigh as they are TOO soft for the thick skin or the thick skull.

Also, to my knowledge it is illegal (and unethical in my opinion even if it is legal).

On buffalo, I would NOT hesitate one nano-second to use a Woodleigh soft point, such as you described!
