It seems that I am once again posting for another friend asking for info from all you knowledgeable folks.

This one is looking for Remington ammunition - .300 Weatherby, 200 grain Swift A-Frame. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I do not know if they load any weatherbys but superior ammo in S Dakota will load him up with what he wants..He will spec out and they will load accordingly...

I'm not really up on factory ammo but I think that Remington did and may still load the 200 SAF in 300 Weatherby. If that is true any of the bigger sporting goods stores such as Bass Pro, Sportsman's Warehouse etc. should carry it. Cabela's may also carry it and you could order from them. UPS will deliver to your door.

Why does he want Remington ammo?

I handload 300 Wby and have found that Weatherby (Norma) cases are 20 grains lighter than Remingtons in that caliber. This means that Remingtons must either have lower velocity or higher pressures or both. I only use Remington cases for practice rounds, loaded with less powder..

Remington does not list it today on their website, only .300 Win Mag with 200 Swift A-Frame.

If Remington previously loaded this combination, you have to mine first the distributors for any remaining stock. After that the stores that stock such ammunition (supply elk hunters, etc.).

You might want to try an ad in Classified too.

I have used Superior in the past, and they do good work. This may be the easier path if the person does not handload.

Back in the mid '80s Remington did offer a loading in the .300 Weatherby caliber. However it was only loaded with their 180 grain core-lokt bullet, not the Swift A-Frame. It was very accurate, but didn't hold up well. My very first African animal was a Springbok in Namibia. I used this load on it. The animal was perfectly broadside, and my shot from @125 yards hit it on the point of the shoulder. It went right down. The bullet didn't exit, and all we found were small fragments. My friend who was with me had 180 grain X loads for his rifle, and I used his ammo for the rest of the trip, and they exited on everything.

I bought a bunch of Remington bullets loaded with Swift A Frames in .300 WBY,from Cabelas.
