On the bull fighting thread a "Bovid Slam" was mentioned. Bovids include every hollow horned critter, 270 +. Did they actually mean bubalus, syncerus, bos, bison?
Is there such a thing as a "slam" on wild cattle/ buff type critters?
That would make for a neat kind of "club' or "group", the membership hats would obviously have a really neat logo!! Smiler a guy can never have too many neat hats.

We were only referring to wild cattle. Bovid was definitely a misnomer, but hey, we knew what we were talking about.

As far as we know, there is no official recognition of a slam of wild cattle. Would be cool if there was though.

A true bovid slam would be an extraordinary feat alright. Right up there with a world slam of ruminants. A cervid slam would be a slam dunk in comparison.

Cheers,
Canuck

new_guy,

For the Ham Slam, you forgot the pigs in Boreno that have a set of tushes coming through their snout.

Let's just call the bovid/bovine slam the Cheese Slam.
Add the porcine slam or Ham Slam:

Ham and Cheese Grand Slam. thumb

I like it. A worthy goal for a life time.

Actually, SCI does have an Oxen of the World slam which I am eligible for at a lower level. There is a beautiful trophy available with a bronze cape buffalo on top. You can have it for turning in your entries to the record book of the animals that you have taken if you have at least three, and submit the trophy fee of only $1,750.00 plus of course the $30 book fee and the $40 medallion fee for each of the animals you have on the list. The Pigs of the World trophy is also available at the same price.
