As always, you seem to come up with great pics. Evidently, you're putting your Digital camera to good use.

Will&George,

I think you will find the animal in question is a red lechwe.

Regards,

Mark

I agree with Mark, the animal in question is a red lechwe. Nice pics. Spring, were your pix taken on the concession or ranch you were hunting or a park?

bwanamrm,
That bull was at Lemco in southern Zim. We saw him with about 15 other buffs while hunting for plains game. I already had my buff at that point.

Small world, Spring. I hunted the Lemco in 1994 with PH John Greeff and Mike Fynn. It's about as fine a safari conservancy as I have ever hunted on! Loaded with game, especiall kudu down on the Bubi River when I was there!

Very nice saeed.

But how come you call Nyala "cows, grown for the shooting", over at the political threads? No cow ever looked so good.

Perhaps you need to show this photo to PubicBruce.

Lemco is indeed quite a place! The Land Reform Programme has taken about 50,000 acres from it so far and I heard they are eying another 100,000 acre parcel. Even with such infringements, it would have to be still considered one of the primier hunting areas in the country.
The buff I took on my trip came from Chirisa, which is in NW Zim (then again you may have gone there, too!).

Spring,
Haven't been to Chirisa yet. Hope I can someday before all of Zim goes down the toliet. Zim was some of the finest safari country in all of Africa at one time. I will be hunting the Dande area in Northeast Zim in July for elephant with Buzz Charlton. Seems some of this area is communal lands and hasn't been battered by the land reform programs. Yet.
