Has anyone hunted Unit 4 in the last few years?

I was in Unit 1 in 2019. Place was practically overrun with both - one day we saw over 150 elephant and seeing 1,000 buff a day was common. We were there in June.

Hopefully. It's a fantastic area - I took my wife and daughter and we had a great time. Daughter bungee jumped off the Vic Falls bridge. We saw lions a couple days. Leopard ate part of my sable before we could recover it - shot it right at dark. It was only 30 yards from where we quit tracking, but in tall grass PH decided to back off and wait.

We also saw Roan - which was cool, never saw one before.

Seems the lions are pounding them very hard. A sable will turn to fight rather than just run away and that is their demise.

Reduced lion quotas has allowed the lion population to blossom.

MBB,

A dedicated sable hunt in Kazuma or Ngamo Sikumi could produce a large sable. Zambia has some areas that are still producing sable over 45".
