Perhaps I misunderstood. I thought you just wanted to know the cutlines for a fullmount on an unhorned animal..........

I am not a troll. See my date of registration.
Unfortunately, I don't know english enough for keeping conversations, but I have been reading lots of interesting information for me from this forum for some years.
And now I need some information, I can't find it and asked for help.

Skinning a lion is accomplished the same way as the skinning of any other game animal.

Why do you want photos?

thunt, consult www.taxidermy.net and look for books/video on skinning mountain lion's. The job will be the same for Lion; rug or lifesize. There are several company's that carry said info.
Good luck,
LDK

Try the book: "The Breakthrough Art of The Big Cat Manual" by Taxidermist John Bellucci. Wasco, 1999. Detailed photos of lion skinning & anatomy.

I am not ready to buy anything. Therefore I asked for help here. I think there are enough lion hunters here, and may be, someone will give photos to me.
I've only found a digital copy of "An atlas of Animal Anatomy for artists" and 2 bad lion skinning photos. And I got 2 low-res photos from one member of this forum yesterday.
It is not enough, but it is better than nothing.

1. Yes, I am from the IRS and here to help you.
2. Yes, I will respect you in the morning.
3. Yes, your check is in the mail.

If you are using these for commerical purposes, such as reference photos for your own taxidermy work and projects, you are sharing the expertise of someone who paid for it, one way or another.

If you are in the taxidermy business and are serious about doing cat mounts, buying the needed reference material is not too much to ask.

Even though we're still all confused bewilderedabout why you really want these bewildered we have still tried to help you. As none of our suggestions seem good enough for you...here's one last one: book a safari, shoot your own lion, and take your own bloody pictures! rotflmo

There is the very interesting nuance: I don't ask anybody for suggestions. I've only asked for photos.
If somebody help me, I will be happy.
If not - please don't post useless messages.
I will not buy anything, I will not shot lions, I will not fly to the Moon and etc for creating few 3D models. And I will not buy a restaurant to have a dinner! Smiler

3-D models of lions? animal Why not forget the lions...and do nude women models? For sure a women without her clothes is much more interesting than a lion without his skin!

I have many photos of a lion being skinned. But after reviewing them, I can't see how they would be useful to anyone wanting to study lion anatomy.

It would be far better, IMHO, to study photos of living lions - or visit a zoo or a game reserve and observe them up close.

One of these pictures - the one where the lioness is turning broadside - may help you. Sorry, none of lions being skinned though...

Dear sir, or madame: when you write like a 10 year old....please don't expect to get adult answers!! moon We've asked & asked many times what exactly do you want?? and for what reason? We are trying to help you out!! All you can answer is "3 D modelling". can you please give us an adult in- depth answer??

You don't like the photos members gave you; you don't want to pay anything to get what you need. So Please, tell us (for once) exactly what it is you are trying to do?? I do have skinnned lion pics, but I'm not giving away my photography for free to some mystery person who will not explain exactly what they will do with them.

Unfortunately, I know English bad, therefore write simply and shortly.
Photos of lions and books for artists are enough for creating simple 3D models (which will be only color cover).
We (I with friends) want to create more detailed models, that will be including skeleton, meat.
We have enough information(photos, images...) for creating the skeleton and external view of lion. But we don't have enough photos, textures and etc... for creating second stage (lion without skin). Therefore I asked here for help.

We will not use models for commercial purposes! We are creating them only for ourselves.
Photos will not be shared anywhere!

Took all of two minutes, went to google and typed in lion musculature.
There may be more info there if you need it.

Good luck and happy modeling.

I notice your profile doesn't tell us your country of origin. Perhaps if you told us where you were from and or your native language, one of the other forum members might be able to communicate with you in your own language.

Now, I have only 4 lion skinning photos (2 from one member from this forum), but only 1 is useful, but unfortunately it is in low-res (and 1 photo is only 1 viewing angle).
