I just chatted with a very nice gentleman who came back from what he said was an excellent buffalo hunt with Buzz Charlton in Dande North. Shot a nice old buffalo at about 50-yards w/a .375, had the hunt filmed, spent the rest of he time site-seeing, fishing, bushbuck hunting, etc. Having hunted SA and Namibia, he said the experience was "exponentially beyond comparison", and that he experienced no problems getting around, with the charter flight, the hunting, etc. Didn't spend much time in Harare, petrol and goods are still tight to non-existent, noting the outfitters hunting the Zambezi (like Buzz) are going into Zambia to get what they need to keep going. What I wanted to pass along to anybody headed over is to make sure you take with you at least three copies of the "VISITOR'S CERTIFICATE TO POSSESS FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION". As was posted elsewhere on the forum, carbon paper is not available, but they were out of the forms period. When I went over in July, I completed three copies by hand in black ink and they were readily accepted. I also made a copy of the completed form on Buzz's fax machine and put it with my copies of birth certificate, passport, tikets, blue cross card, etc. - which proved useful later due to the SAA strike. Last thoughts, don't sign the form until you are there, and make sure their red stamp is legible on your copy. Fortunately this did not pose a huge problem as he had a form w/him and they manually did the rest. I have a copy of the Firearms form in Microsoft Word format and .pdf if anybody needs it - email me and I'll be happy to forward it to you. Regards, Bill

Bill, the "VISITOR'S CERTIFICATE TO POSSESS FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION" is for South Africa or Zim?? Sorry if I'm asking about the obvious, this is the first I hear about possible entry formalities to Zim (if that is what this is about?). Maybe I have not been following past posts closely enough? -mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Mike - Forms are for Zimbabwe, as NG just pointed out, sorry if I glossed over this. You can print three and fill each out by hand before leaving, then you don't have to worry about making three copies there. Show rifles, sign, stamp and go. Simple forms, every country has something - don't get this confused w/South Africa, nothing like it. Bill - I heard your video [DVD] is in transit.

Bill, I'll drop you an e-mail when I get back to my own computer tomorrow (I'm logged in via my girlfriend's computer right now...). - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon...
