Can a husband and wife each import a rifle of the same caliber if they each have their own US Customs form? The SA Police use the US customs form as a substitute for US gun regestration since we do not have regestration permits in the US that cover rifles. So if I have a US Customs form in my name with a 7x57 Ruger #1, and my wife has another US Customs form in her name with a 7x57 Win mod 70, will that pass?

Yes that is fine, it's two different people with two different permits no problem. I had a husband and wife last year with two 270's and a 338. One 270 was in the wifes name the other two guns were in the husbands name.

You'll also need 2 copies of SAP311 which you can download from my website. don't forget to complete it in BLACK ink and don't sign it until you are in the company of the firearms officer in JIA.

Your outfitter should have already told you these things and should have sent you the SAP311.
