Hello,

I've read on this site for several days and have not even begun to read all of what is posted. African hunting has only recently become a passion of mine and will hopefully become a reality in the future. This has got to be the best site on the web and I'm looking forward to posting and learning here.

Bill,

I've been a happy learner here and am still happily learning away!

You'll find this site great fun and will learn a huge amount here fromsome of the most experienced big game hunters in the world.

Good hunting and be warned - this is an addiction that you will never grow out of!

Thanks for the welcome.
Peter, I did put "seer" as my occupation but I have no control over the gift. In order to maintain some degree of privacy the identity of the desert is not given. I noticed there is a private message service on this site, so you are welcome to contact me anytime. If I knew where Bin Laden was, then I would've already turned his sorry butt in and collected mucho dinero....but this is somewhat off topic. Since I have no African hunting experience I probably will not post here much except maybe to ask a question now and again.

I don't suppose we could add soothsayer and sage to your talents as well?

Glad to have you amongst us.

95yjcoup,

Welcome to the forum.

A few days ago the whole of Dubai looked like a desert after a sandstorm we had.

So as you can see, we do have a lot in common.

Welcome Bill,
You'll find that people on this site are relaxed and supportive.
Sometimes one asks a question that was already dealt recently in much depth (I put my foot into that frequently!). Then you will find that someone out there is likely to refer you to the link to that thread, but nobody on this board will tell you not to behave stupid.
Also, the archives are something else!!
Enjoy!
Lochi.

95yjcoup: Welcome. I made my first hunting trip to Africa before this site was up. I wish I would have had this resource before my first trip.

Welcome aboard! You will find the people here very willing to help in any way they can, but don't hesitate to post here. Though many here have a lot of experience, and many trips to Africa under their collective belts, they don't know EVERYTHING! Some very sound ideas come from those who haven't been there at all, but know their firearms, and know hunting in general. So don't draw back from expressing your ideas, nobody is so experienced that they can't learn! Feel free to join in any discussion!

I am still rather intrigued why you want to remain anonomous in the desert Give us a clue ....

Keep asking the questions as there are some very informed and extremely helpful people on this forum ...

Happy hunting in the desert .... You will like Namibia as it has a lot of desert as well as bush areas to hunt.

Regarding your occupation, it might not actually be (off subject) when you think about it, it could be very helpful to you and the PH when tracking a wounded animal in fact, you might be able to show the tracker a trick or two Also Bin Laden could be in a desert location for all we know !!
