I met Nikki when she lived in Seattle before she married Keith. She is very small person, maybe a size 2 dress if that. She is tough as nails, knowing her, this will not stop her hunting. I was very saddened to hear she was gored by a buffalo. I am glad she is going to be alright, I be willing bet she will be back hunting next year if not sooner. Get well soon Nikki.

It takes tough people to go into the weeds with wounded buffalo, and Nikki, and Kieth fall into that catagory. She will be back in the field as soon as she heals enough to shoot a buffalo rifle. I suspect, however, with an renewed caution, when following Buffalo!

The thing I'm hopeing is she doesn't need a blood transfusion! My prayers are with her, and Kieth!

Here are my wishes for a speedy recovery, Niki. Glad to here it was less serious than it could have been, but painful nevertheless. There, but for the grace of God, go I.

She also had an interesting story in SCI Safari about a year ago When Hunters become the Hunted - it was about Lion hunting in the Selous. God's speed to her on her recovery and may she hunt for many years to come.

I was horrified to read the first post about Nikki being gored by a wounded buffalo, but very relieved to read the updated report that her injuries are apparently not life-threatening.

Holly and I hunted mule deer and antelope with Keith and Nikki in Montana last fall. They are both dedicated hunters and two of the nicest people we know.

We will anxiously await news of her condition once she reaches a proper health care facility and pray for her speedy and complete recovery.

Nikki may be small, but she's feisty! I would bet that she is already plotting her revenge on Synercus Caffer!
