I recently read a report concerning a suit filed against Hugo Ross (Ras) and Big Game Safari's. I am the owner of a freight company in South Africa, and we were recently requested by Hugo Ross and Big Game Safari's to ship over two large crates of Fibre Glass replicas of animals, for a display at the recent shot show in Las Vagas. We were advised by Hugo Ross that he would be paying the freight charges, but when we presented his cheque, he had stopped payment. This was after Jim Hebert of Big Game Safari's had received the consignment. Now we are being used like a tennis ball going from Jim Hebert and back to Hugo Ross, as to who is paying the charges of USD 7,300.00. Now Hugo won't even answer his phone and when I do manage to speak to his young secretary, he is always in meetings. It seems to me that Hugo Ross likes stopping payment on cheques. Hugo claims that Jim Hebert owes him money, and that Jim must pay, and Jim Hebert claims that Hugo owes him money. Meanwhilem we are stuck in the middle. So my recomendations to all hunters looking at hunting with either Big Game Safari's or Hugo Ross, is to be carefull, as they are proving to be dishonest businessmen. Paul, Please accept that I'm sorry that it seems you were screwed by some SOB. I say "seems", not doubting your word, but neither have I heard the other side of the story. In my experience it is always wise to reserve judgement until you have heard both sides. To this end I did a Google search and do not get anything specific for "big game safaris hugo" What I'm saying is that I could not easily identify exactly who the guy is that you claimed is a SOB. If you want to blackball the SOB who stopped a cheque on you, please give the guy's full name company name, telephone particulars and, on this forum particularly, a web page URL. I make this plea or request on behalf of the many rewally honest and good guys also called Hugo's, Ras' and Ross' and also the firms with similar worded names like the Big Game Hunts and others out there who may now be under suspicion because their clients who reads your posting can not accurately identify the guy that you call a culprit! Please help the readers identify easily and accurately who exactly you call a SOB. In good hunting. Hi there Andrew, Many thanks for your comments, and justified I must say. Firstly, Hugo Ross is a PH based in South Africa and Big Game Safari's is a Safari Outfitter based in Detroit. I do not have any other information on Hugo Ross other than a South African Mobile number which is 082 553 6409. Big Game Safari's is run by Jim Hebert, Tel: 810 252 1212, email: jhebert@ees.eesc.com The reason I typed RAS in my posting, is that there is a recent posting concerning a suit that was filed by a person in the USA against Hugo concerning an elephant hunt. I am not agreeing with the basis of the suit, but in that posting it is mentioned that Hugo gave the client a $ 30,000.00 refund, and when the client banked the cheque, he found that the cheque had been stopped. I understand that to get a full understanding of any matter there are two sides of the story, but I am sure that Jim Hebert will confirm we handled the matter in a highly proffesional manner, and delivered the goods on time. The cheque has been stopped as Hugo now wants Jim to hand over the replicas to another outfitter, and until he does, he claims he will not pay us. Jim is refusing to do so. I as, what has this got to do with us. We shipped and delivered the goods as per Hugo's instructions, and only later has he got into a dispute with Jim. I see it only as a front for not paying his account. I appreciate any persons comments. Regards Paul Stanley
