There were several exciting developments at SCI this year that I felt obliged to pass along. First, legendary Scandinavian hunter Sven Johannsen has booked with Charlton McCallum. Swen's eyesight is not what it once was, but what he lacks in poor eyesight he more than makes up with halitosis. There will be more posted about this exciting development later.

Second, Charlton McCallum have engaged one of the leading advertising firms that does Super Bowl commercials to assist them in marketing. One of the ad firm's first efforts was the development of new business cards for the team. It will be interesting to see if other outfitters follow this new advertising trend.

Mike - I "some how" came by one of those cards on day one? But, after throwing Wendell under the bus, I figured I would let someone else handle this one.

Awesome!!!

There was a limited supply of cards on hand, but everyone I know that had one made up for the lack of quantity by showing the card to everyone they encountered, including rank strangers.

Well done RJ and BC.

Just woken up jet- lagged at 3 am in Dubai and thought I would see whats happening on AR! Man oh man - not a pleasant sight if I may say so myself and certainly wont be possible to go back to sleep after seeing that!

I do feel that I need to clarify a point here about the “green Mankini” incase one should think that there may be some other similarities between “pondoro” Taylor and myself other then the love of hunting elephant and or that I might have a tendency to like cross dressing!

The pic is a result of a lost bet with Rob Jolly regarding tusk size! I always honour my bets and had the choice of snivelling around embarrassed or going out there and “strutting the strut” which is what I did- much to my trackers and camp staffs great embarrassment! Considering this happened over two year ago I am surprised it had taken this long to surface!

What I can say is that yes Mr Jines we are in for a few “dreaded dreadful death marches!” and revenge is best “served cold”! By the way, also for the record, the Pic was taken on a very cold winters day!

The “Swen elephant hunt” that’s a whole other story- very amusing Rob congrats and not surprising that the pretty girls selling SCI life membership ran away from you!

There's Jamison with his buffs, Perceival smoking a pipe sitting next to a fire with Papa, Wally JOhnson and his massive Ele's, Taylor and Ali, Selby and Ruark...and then there is Buzz and his mankini...imagine what the anti-hunting crowd will say...hell, they'll probably be knocking down your door.

As far as the cold, yes, the tusks do look like they've shrunk a bit...

Best...

Just for the record Buzz I had nothing to do with those business cards and I am somewhat affronted that you should think that I would ever stoop so low. I am also surprised and very disappointed that someone with Mike Jines’ obvious impeccable character would expose his friend to such intimate public scrutiny.
I can however confirm that I did take the photograph when Buzz was man enough (photographic evidence??) to stand on ( well obviously not !!) as a forfeit for a lost bet. The photographs were only shown to Buzz’s closest confidants and I don’t know who the low down dog is who would expose them to public release.
As someone who was actually present I can also confirm that it was winter time and that I am happy to accept Buzz’s assurance that contrary to the rumours currently circulating there were no rolled up socks used in the making of this film.
As a final point, I can confirm that I do have several other photographs in different poses taken at the same time and that in the light of recent events I will exercise full due diligence in their safe keeping.

Unfortunately CMS has been lured into thinking that the time tested marketing ploy that "sex sells" is easy. It isn't and obviously this desparate attempt fell short. There is also rumor that there was some sock stuffing going on here. From my back channeling with Myles he is now scrambling to do damage control to save the integrity and rep of his once respectable organization.

My wife asked a while back, why I like hunting with CMS so much. After seeing that mankini, I had some explaining to do!!

She said with views like that, she's coming with next time! Especially if you wear that thing in the field!
