Ladies and Gentlemen,

As you might recall, we got this black impala a few weeks ago, and were rather thrilled to have him.

He was put an enclosure with a number of animals, that inncluded scimitar horned orys, addax, Arabian ibex, Grant's and Thompson gazelles, as well as many Dorca's gazelles.

I was away for a few days, so he decided to go on the rampage.

He killed two Dorca gazells, and one female Arabian ibex.

The boys managed to catch him, and put him in a seperate enclosure next to the others.

The enclosure where he is has many dead trees. On which doves like to land.

And I normally put some feed for the doves there, so I can shoot some for our owls.

The other day I went there to shoot some doves. I had an air rifle. This impala wasn't impressed by my presence, and I think if I did not beat a hasty retreat he would have charged me.

No sooner have I left his pen, that he took a run and jumped over the fence into the other side where he was originally.

He started chasing everything around him as soon as his feet touched the ground!

I thought I better put an end to this. I went and changed rifles, getting a BRNO 308 Winchester we have installed a silencer on.

For this I had deveoped some reduced loads with Sierra 168 Match King bullets.

It took me about 20 minutes before I managed to get a shot at him. As crazy as it might seem, he was either hiding behind another animal, or behind a tree! The times he was clear, he only had the fence behind him, and I did not wish to shoot him the as the bullet going through him might hurt some on the other side. As there are always people working there.

Eventually he stook with the back wall behind him, and that was the end of him.

Well, whatever damage it had caused, it sure tasted good.

Walter even suggested we have a weekly hunt, and shoot one of the male Dorca's for a BBQ!

What do you feed them?
They do look tasty and small enough for a spit.
What does Walter use for sauces and/or marinade?

I'm surprised that Walter didn't claim to be a black impala whisperer, didn't volunteer to go in, calm the beast down, and change his ways with the other animals. But then again, Walter loves meat and a good BBQ!

Saeed, are you having it mounted? Life size in a charging pose with head down & horns pointed downrange?

If you mount him, have the taxidermist put a larger set of horns on him.
