Two questions:

Do I need a sponsor to join?

If I do -- would any of you fine gentlemen be willing to sponsor me?

Thanks,
Dan

I did not have one - they just put one of their office staff down as the sponsor.

Just go on line and find out where and how to join. Give them a call. That's what I did last year when I moved to Dallas.

If you really want a sponsor, I'll step up. Then maybe I'll win a rifle or something at the end of the year.

Impatient soul that I am, I fear I've already submitted my application :-(

I should have waited to see if I could have afforded anyone a chance to get a rifle...

Beware, X-grunt put Harry Hunter (Mims) down as one of his sponsors and he hasn't heard back from them in months.

But then again ... he also listed me ...

I didn't list anybody, so I should be okay.

At least I got a email back that they would send it on to the B of Ds. Maybe it will die at that point. Haven't checked to see if the money went out of the bank!

Wendell,
So if I put you down as a sponsor it may hurt me by association?

I'm glad I got in before I came across any of you guys. Your all very bad influences.

By the way Wendell, you need to offer a counseling service to keep married first time safari customers safe once they put a deposit down with you. I fear that my wife may seriously injure me for talking constantly about hunting in Namibia - and the trip I booked isn't until next May. Seriously, she has had to tell me to shut up about Africa more than once and she is usually a nice lady. You'll probably meet her at the DSC show in January - I'll try to make sure she is unarmed at the time. Smiler

I won't let my wife come to the show, for fear she will see the dollar figure of these hunts.

I finally got into the DSC after using Wendell and Mims as sponsors at Wendell's suggestion. However they did charge me double and gave me a two year probation.

Harry,

Strange, Wendell said it had to your name that was causing the hold up on the DSC membership. I do believe the adjetive he used to descibe you was always stiring things up. It seems both of you know each other well.

I hope to meet you both in Dallas this Jan. I've got to get this little holiday Wendell has planned for me under my belt so I can be an expert when I arrive.

What part of the magnolia state does your son in law hale from. We could be cousins.

Saeed, please move this thread to the humor forum! This is getting out of hand.

xgrunt. 2 years probabltion? You got off light. One year for each count of association. We must be cleaning up our act, it used to be two years probation for each count.

Mims, maybe it is best if we both just shut up until xgrunt is off probation. I doubt we are helping his cause.

DrScott,

I didn't know you were an AR member!

Please do bring your wife by the booth this Jan. I can explain to her how difficult it is to schedule trips more than a year out.

But, look at it this way ... you will be in Namibia long before xgrunt is off probation.
