Zebra Stripes - Not About Lions
There is an interesting article in Real Clear Science about a study that suggests that the common wisdom that Zebra stripes are all about confusing predators, mainly lions is not accurate. The study finds that the stripes are there to discourage and ward off biting flies, horse flies and tse tse. If true, we may see a new generation of PH's and hunters outfitted like referees and convicts plying the bush...
