I am trying to find out the name of Karl Mason's outfitting business in Zimbabwe. I hunted last year with his brother Kirk and understand that Kirk is now hunting with Karl. I met Karl in Bulawayo and would like to see him at SCI. I'm sure Ganyana or Don Heath will know for sure. Thanks all.

As far as I Know Kirk is still hunting with Tsabezi safari's (Dudley Rogers). Karl used to be full time there any may have gone back. Didn't see either at the agm or ball.

African Trails I beleive. I was SUPPOSED to hunt Zim this past Sept. with Karl, but he ended up overbooking...or something...and I ended up hunting with a PH Karl hired named Craig Robinson. Craig was first rate in all respects and I would hunt with Craig again. If you book with Karl....make sure Nikki sends you ALL of the info...then make sure she understands it.

Best of luck.

...AFRICAN TRAILS, aftrails@mweb.co.zw
Carl will be at Reno for the SCI convention.
Kirk, Carl's brother, is no longer with Tshabezi Safaris, and will be hunting with AFRICAN TRAILS in 2007.

Cheers

Tsibindi, thanks. I've sent an e-mail. I thought the information about Kirk leaving Tshbezi was what I had received.

tsibindi:

Will Carl have a booth at SCI? I have never met him as I booked with him thru Bobby Hanson with whom I hunted PG in SA before flying on to Zim. Things were a bit buggered up when I got to Zim, but worked out once Craig picked me up in Bulawayo.
Thanks.

Bwanna: That's the only email address I have. Keep in mind, Zim coms is somewhat "iffy" on occasion.
You might attempt to get in touch with Carl via phone. Cell No: 263 11 42 1937

Nothing wrong with this Tshabezi site. Tsibindi, thanks for the information. I'll give him a call. Mike, you need to get rid of that thumbnail under your name. I nearly cry everytime I see it. Damn, that is a NICE bull!

What can any of you who have been tell me about Tshabezi. I looked over the site and it looks like a great package they offer price wise. Anyone know about the sucess rates on Buffs and the over all quality of the service they offer? It sure looks like it might make me a fine first trip to Africa. I'm thinking '09.

SKB - I just hunted with them last June. It was wonderful. I hunted in the Gokwe North area for Elephant, Leopard and Buff. I took a great bushbuck and a warthog as well. That area has great kudu, too. There are also some sable, eland, bushpig, grysbuck, lion, hyena, jackal and baboon. The buffalo success is at nearly 100% and we were in elephant every day. You probably won't shoot a buff over 40", though there are some in there. More likely you'll get something with a hard boss in the upper 30's. Thsbezi also hunts the Gokwe south area as well as an area along Gonarozu (sp?) national park. There are elephant, croc and hippo in that area. If you want to drop me a pm I can tell you more.

I think Dudley (owner of Tshabezi) will be at DCS and SCI, if you're planning to attend.
