Dear friends,

In my mind it is all too often that people on this board post complaints and very rare that clients praise the stellar performers in our industry! Well, I aim to change that today! I recently had some great dealIngs with Pam Foerster. (pam-iacs@mweb.com.na) that through no fault of hers became quite complicated. My Cheetah, Mtn. Zebra and other trophies were being shipped up to Canada and the customs broker in BC was a bit slow getting the import permit for the cat. They were so slow in fact that the permits to export the Zebra and other trophies were due to expire in a couple weeks. I wired Pam payment (or tried to) from here in Egypt but a bit of downtown urban instability changed banking hours and a fire at a main branch caused some chaos at all branches. In short, my wire request was lost for a period of a few weeks.

Pam came through! She expedited my shipment (even with just the solemn promise of finalizing payment once banking returned to normal) in order to ensure that my permits would not expire and so I would get my cat up to Canada in a timely fashion! I got word today that the wire was finally received from my marginally efficient Egyptian bank so I hope I was not too much of an inconvenience. That said, I am beyond impressed by Pam and her professionalism . Her willingness and ability to keep me up to date and stay on top of shippers and brokers and airline employees and customs people is a model for all people in the safari business to follow.

If you ever need a shipper, Pam is the one to call!

Best,

John

Funny, and for future transactions I hope Pam is not reading this, the very reasonable cost of my shipment surprised me. I actually thought a digit had been left off the bill. I guess I learned my lesson from past safaris and only shoulder mounted pygmy antelope to ship with only hides and skulls from everything else. That volumetric weight calculation can be a killer!
