Check out this nice lion from Zimbabwe this season. The hunter wished to remain anonymous because he's gotten crap from antis who Googled him.

I hope everybody's thrown as much support as they can behind John Jackson's lion project over at Conservation Force. If lion gets uplisted to Appendix 1, photos like this will be for purposes of nostalgia.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Cliff is a good friend and I heard from he and Bruce shortly after hunting this lion. They compared it to as good as they get in Zambia. At any rate, and any where, this is a great lion.

I am hunting Lion with Bruce Watson in Dande in July and hope for similar. Rifa is an exceptional area. The two guys in the picture look like brothers. Neither one is Cliff in case anyone wondered.

Beautiful big lion. Pro-Safaris that we represent is in Rifa. One of the reasons Pro paid big bucks fo the area was the excellent lions available there.

Where is bwanamich? He needs to age this lion.

Outstanding lion. Not a lot of anonymity when you show your face. Someone will recognize you and post your name somewhere unfortunately. Aside from that, great trophy!

Hi Mark, glad you miss me Big Grin
From what I see I don't think anyone can fault hunters for taking that lion. You did ask.

Of course one would need to determine if it was part of a pride with young and pregnant female now.... dancing moon
