I was attending a memorial in Lower Zambezi when this unfortunate chap was transported from Zimbabwe to a Zambian hospital across the river.

Details are sketchy but apparently, he was walking home from Tiger Camp to home that fateful evening.

On the Zambian side, a mother had her baby taken by a Croc whilst they were washing themselves by the river.

When I was working this river many years ago I recorded 35 fatalities to Croc in one year!

By all accounts, this man is making a good recovery.

I will update his progress.

ROFL... no shit, bro!

l've had the unfortunate experience of having to fight for my life alone just the once, and can fully appreciate some of what he must have gone through.

l too hope he makes a significant recovery, and that the mental scars fade quickly along with the rest.

Wow... that scar across the top of his head is something. Tough gentleman, wishing him a complete recovery.

To me it looks more like open tissue which hasn't yet been stitched and yes, in 6 months from now he will bear the scar and story to tell.

Thank God he survived!

Looks a HECK of a lot better in this pic than the first one.

I'd suspect he had a lot of good drugs to keep blood poisoning from setting in with whatever a Lion's claws and teeth hold in them.

As someone born and raised in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, it is ironic that he gets better medical treatment north of the Zambezi ... thanks to the Zambians for their compassion.
