Frankly Adam is spot on with this one. The only thing a large company understands is loss of revenue. I for one prefer the european route anyway. The prices are comparable and the flights get broken into almost equal segments. A lot of booking agents will not bring the price into the picture unless it is in SAA's favour as they dont get a fee from many of the european airlines. The service is much better as well. You can have a long or a short layover as you prefer. With the new gun laws etc there is no easy way to travel with firearms period. An extra form or two is a non issue as far as that goes. If you back up your complaints in the form of lost revenue they will pay attention but only then.

I do not think that SAA will do anything about it all, and why should they do anything about it when everyone is still flyig with them?? Everyone here who is complaining about the flight still goes ahead and books their tickets to fly on the plane The only way to do anything about it at all depends on you, and if we do not fly with SAA and they loose business, then they might do something about it. Complaining about it and then still booking your tiket with them does not make any sense to me. There are several other ways of getting to SA through Europe until they do change something.

Michael & fellow ARSters, You have to ask them how they intend to fix the problem "...throughout 2005". I recall a US Army program titled "Lighten the Load" intended to make it easier on Light Infantry grunts. What actually came out of that program was a strengthening regimen for the troops to make it easier for them to be a "tote goat". Be alert for SAA's passerger size reduction program in your mailbox! jim
