"Far better it is to dare mighty things..."

Well, I'm 55 and go on safari once every two years or so. What better incentive to stay alive and in shape until 65 (or longer should one or more trips prove to be unsuccessful)? Also, what better way to ensure that my kids don't have to deal with an estate tax problem when I depart this world. Big Grin

Seriously, I think this would be a very noteworthy accomplishment, especially considering where you have to go to hunt a couple of the subspecies (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, CAR).

From what I understand, a couple of these subspecies give new meaning to the term "dangerous game" and are a real challange to hunt.

Anybody know anyone who has taken all five?

(For those who don't know, the five species are cape buffalo, dwarf forest buffalo, Nile buffalo, west African savanna buffalo, and Central African savanna buffalo.)

There are several people in Safari Club International who have done so.

Yeah, I know some of the bigwigs in SCI have done this (kind of like those who have gotten a Grand Slam of North American sheep).

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has shot ANY of the "other" buffalo, especially Nile or West Africa savanna varieties.

We have a new area for Nile Buffalo opening up next year. Should have a pretty good quota there and expect to use it as an extension for our mt. nyala or Lake Chamo Croc Safaris. We currently also take 6 per year in our Sala River Concession. These safaris are part of our Omo/Sala Safari program.

Rich,

I've been trying to access your web site for a couple of days. Is it down?

Will you guys be in Dallas? If so, we can talk a little more seriously there. (not that I'm ready to commit to anything yet -- I'm already planning on going back to Zim next year)

Craig Boddington discusses all of them in his book: Buffalo! He has not shot Nile Buffalo and doesn't believe he will because of their low numbers. Good book about all of the different species.

Use enough....Craig hasn't seen our new place or he would reconsider that "low numbers" business.

GAHUNTER,

That's the company's bunny hugger website photo safaris that is Smiler
We have maintained a website in several years. It wasn't worth the trouble as we stay booked up about 2 years out. I'll be glad to fwd a brochure if you want to PM me your address.
I'll be roaming around the Dallas show having fun all day on Saturday only. I'll be at the Friday night AR party though.
