I met Steve, Susan and Pierre van Tonder , while they were chatting to Gerard at GS Custom bullets. Eventually we all moved to Karl S’s exhibition. Everybody admired the Buffalo horns he had on display. We moved out to the venue, which was in the open. Slowly the other guest started arriving. I also invited Ant and his personel from the African hunting magazine. We arranged a lot of small tables together to make one very big table. The party was arranged that we do our own thing, the caterers supplied the food, a bar and waiters. At first all the members was a little quiet, but this changed very quickly and the tables were set for a lot of fun.

LtR Pierre van Tonder, Gavin Leech(SAGA), 500Nitro, Karl S, Karl’s partner, Susan, Steve and a bit of my wife.

LtR Steve, Thea, Jaco, Jakkals

Susan, Steve, Lochi, Jaco and Jakkals busy sharing some fun.

Jaco, Pierre van Tonder, Pierre van der Walt and Thea, caught by Lochi in a very serios conversation.

The two ladies behind the bar did a very good job keeping our glasses full

Ant and his gang, it was good meeting them. Unfortunately they had to leave early.

LtR 3 of Amt’s personnel, Gerard’s daughter Gina, Gerard

Some photos of the hungry members

Lochi making a Ape of himself. He then had a go at the party crashers, but that is a story he van tell himself. He even convinced the lady you can hunt a crocodile with a torch and a pellet gun

The party crashers

Well that was our party, the full monty of it.

We will definitely do it again next year and hopefully we will have double the members to attend

Is there a moderator that can please help me to get the photos posted. When I copy the photo address to my address bar I get the image, but it does not display on the post. I do not know what the problem is.

I can now see all of them...If they are only showing intermittently, it can sometimes indicate a problem with the site where they are hosted...

I think I got 'er fixed. The pic's were justified left....which for some reason always causes display problems. Its best if they are not justified at all.

Cheers,
Canuck

Jaco,

Too bad I couldn't arrange to be there, I would have liked it. Looks like you had a good time.

Any chance you could cross-reference the actual names with the AR screen names???

Thanks Pete E and Canuck, Ive learned something new.

577NitroExpress

The only screen name I do not have up is Steve, he post under "shakari", for the rest I used their screen names. We had some guests that is not members.

attending members were

Jaco Human
Shakari
Jakkals
Lochi
500Nitro
Gerard
Karl S
Pierre van Tonder, he very rarely posts.
Pierre van der Walt, he also posts rarely.

The rest were wifes, friends, guests and attachments.

For next year we can organise hunts before and after the AIM show and all meet for a day at the show and the party afterwards. Just an idea from my side. Does it sound like a workable plan.

I think that's a great idea - with a little planning we could get a really big crowd to attend...... and even for the overseas visitors the additional cost would be minimal......

What's nice for prospective hunters about ya'll getting together is that respective hunting resources/concessions might well be shared by the attendees, since they now know each other. Good nyala here, good kudu there....

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

JudgeG,
You missed the party with only 1 week.

We are already talking about a special AR hunt before the annual party and 1 after the party. We will give more details later.

Yes we did discuss a lot of things and some "things" might come out of it, check the board.

Some of you were drinking so hard that I ended up forgetting to take home the Bayticol I bought Mad Well, this year's clients will simply have to bear the ticks.

John, we had a braai, look carefully and you will see it on one of the photos.

I could not dare to put it in the middle of the group, I was worried that the breath of some members could cause an explosion. bewildered

It was done to protect the guilty jumping

We only allowed two guys at a time around the braai.
