I will be hunting in Namibia next year, and I was wondering if a person is allowed to clear and take possession of his trophys, rather than hire a brooker. I live only 30 minutes from JFK airport, and I would rather do it myself

If you will be carrying the trophies with you in checked baggage there is no problem from what I understand. On the USFWS web page there is a sectin from which the necessary forms can be downloaded. If you call them, they will help you. To be honest, I think hiring a broker is a waste of money unless you are either not traveling with your trophies or do not live near the entry point. I hired a broker when my stuff from Zim was shipped to me but that was only because it was cheaper to have him clear and ship than it would have been for me to hire a separate shipping company. I was having the stuff shipped from California to Arizona. Had I lived in Cali, I could have done it myself easily with the help fo the USFWS. Best, JohnTheGreek
