ozark hunterAnybody got worse luck?
Last year our trip to RSA was cancelled due the our flight through Paris with the Iceland volcano, now this year we are scheduled to go out of St. Louis and a tornado wiped out the airport. What th F***! Will we ever get there or should we give up? Will try to get to Jo'berg via Kansas City and Atlanta. Please wish us luck.

cameronaussieDear Ozark
Any lost trip is a great shame.
At least you could claim travel insurance?
When I first started hunting in New Zealand I had bad luck.
2nd 10 day trip we flew in and the weather turned. Spent 7 days stuck in a 2 man tent. Weather cleared just enough to get the copper ride back out.
3rd 10 day trip we flew in and after 6 days in the tent got a days hunting in.
So after a grand total of 30 days big game hunting in New Zealand, all I had taken was 1 chamios.
Not sure what is worse being stuck at home or being stuck in the hunting area unable to hunt.
Keep in mind this was over a 4 year period.
The 4th 10 day hunt was a cracker.
But that is life and part of the adventure.
It did teach me 1 thing, being stuck in a 2 man tent. Never injure your self because being stuck in a bed in a medical centre for days would be really tuff.
Remember no matter how bad things seam they can always be worse.
Regards Mark

BlacktailerAt least you are getting all of the bad stuff out of the way before you start. Just imagine how nice it will be when you get there.

David CulpepperMy luck has not been too good. Was suppose to go over back last August & September but got very sick a week before I was suppose to leave so had to cancel. Then I was trying to go back this year in July but changed jobs and by the time I work enough to qualify for vacation time I hit the busy season which is August thru November for me. So trying to make it in June 2012, the lucky part for me is my outfitter/PH is a good friend and the money I wired him last year he is keeping in his bank until I can make it. But if all falls thru he will send it back to me, so basically I have a trip that is pretty much paid for.

AnotherAZWriterI got stuck in Europe last year due to that volcano. At the time I was bummed out, but I ended up visiting a customer that brought new business this year. So you never know when bad luck can bring good.
