Do the hotels at DSC have free airport pickup? I'm thinking about using my Sky Miles and save the 12 hour drive and the parking fee.

We’ve only stayed at the Adolphus but they did not offer an airport shuttle. I can’t personally speak to the other hotels but I believe most do not have a shuttle…

I called the agency that handles the bookings, they said I would have to call the hotel themselves but there isn't a phone number for the individual hotels. I guess I'll have to call the 800 number for each hotel.

Randy,

There are inexpensive shuttles available at the airport. You will probably ride in with other DSC attendees. Sometimes that's quite fun.

I'm deciding on DSC or SCI and most of the vendors I would want to talk to seem like they will be at both.

I can get to Dallas on miles and I am an EMT so it appears that I can get into DSC for free.

Is there any advantage for one over the other?

I had wanted to go to SCI when it moved to Nashville, 4 hour drive and I've never been to their shows but the cost is so much more than DSC. It cost me $120 to get in at DSC, $500 at SCI. I guess they price it that way to keep people like me out. Plus, the rooms are $100 / day higher. I'll just go to DSC, seems like more my style.

Also to attend SCI you have to join SCI, another $100 or so. To attend DSC, just show up and pay the much cheaper day fee. DSC is smaller, primarily because it doesn’t have as many jewelry, furniture, and furrier booths. More pure hunting/outdoor gear, less superfluous stuff. And damn sure a lot friendlier convention staff….

Generally, the downtown Dallas hotels do not run Airport shuttles. If they were to run one, it would most likely be to Love Field which is just northwest of downtown. DFW is a far drive for downtown Dallas hotel to operate a airport shuttle. There are shared shuttles that do operate from DFW to anywhere you want to go. If you don't have a lot of luggage you can take the DART from from DFW to downtown. 1 hours and 10 minutes from DFW to the West End.

When I went to DSC in 2022, I had to take an Uber from Love Field to my downtown hotel. I don't remember the cost. It is probably more now.

One word answer: Uber. Fly into Love, not DFW, and the hotels are all 15-20 minutes away.
