I've hunted with Peter twice and think the world of him. He was born in Botswana to a hunting family (his father was the superintendent of Chobe National Park at its inception and was a PH himself). Pete is very calm and capable guy with a dry wit. His safari operation lost their primary concession when it was turned into a photo-only concession. He is well thought of by the other PH's in Botswana and is welcome to hunt on several other concessions. I have no qualms about recommending him. His wife, Judy, works with him and she is absolutely charming.

Where and what do you have in mind for your safari?

Forrest, I will be hunting with him in CH1/CH2 in about 2 weeks for Elephant. I have heard good things about him but was just curious who knew him. I am hoping for a big boy but with hunting you never know. I am travelling light so if you want to send anything over to him, let me know. Maybe you can give me an inside story or so I can lay on him. PM me if you wish.

Regards,

Larry, that Chobe area should offer an opportunity for a big bull. I'm really jealous of your trip. Pete's style is very understated and he has a very quick dry wit. I'll send you a PM about one of our funnier experiences (at least it was funny to me - Peter might have a different take on things).

Good luck and have a safe safari
Forrest

Thanks Mike and Forrest. This area does have some good bulls so it is now up to Peter, me, and luck. I hope I can do my part.

Mike, what is going on the 29th. I assume you mean July and I assume you mean Matt Norman. Maybe I can get up with you guys. I leave the following Wed. so I will be around. Room for an observer if you can get away.

Regards,

Larry

Yes I was referring to Matt Norman. He is currently in Arkansas with Ed Williams, Jim Yackley and the rest of the guys that live out there for the annual dragon fly hunt and driven grasshopper shoot with their smooth bore 22's and birshot. The guys have a blast and it has become an annual pilgrimage. I am sure there will be ample amounts of alcohol at the end of the day as well. Anyway he should be back by then.
I might be persuaded to come with you if I can get off. I will call you this weekend, It is my first one off since May. I dont know if I could handle just watching. I think I would start to twitch terribly not being able to drop the hammer on something. Big Grin

Mike, regarding the Detroit function next week, is this a SC tournament or just a fundraiser? Would we need to pre-register? Send me PM with number and I will call you. Cannot find card right now.
