Guests I dont know what most hunters do when they book a hunt to Africa REGARDS Medical Evacuation cover ... Just a pertanent warning, accidents do happin, not only with dangerious game ... We recently ( 10 days ago ) had a Zambian Outfitter arrange for his PH to bring one of his USA clients to our Dendro Park Ranch to hunt. During the hunt a very unfortunate accident occured whereby whilst making safe or something similar a round exploded in the rifle which resulted in the hunter sustaining a very serious hand injury, fortunately he is a doctor and his immediate expertice helped ... I don't know exactly what happened, but the gun apparantly was a mess. Thank goodness we have a satellite phone on the ranch, we conntacted the Zambian Outfitter in Lusaka whom aranged for an emergency SES evacuation to Lusaka, then the connect flight took over to get him to surgery in Johannesburg. The moral of the story is accidents do happin, be as prepared as possible for these emergencies deep in the bush .. I always recomend to clients that they seriously consider and arrange the following as required ... Medical Accident Baggage Travel and TRIP CANCELLATION insurance cover .... the above case highlights the [ trip cancellation ] aspect and Medical cover only too clearly Regards, Peter

I haven't had to use it yet but bought Med-Jet for the entire family 2 years ago when we went over. Since it covers you everywhere over 150 miles from home we have renewed it just like AAA. If I never have to use it I will be happy but more importantly I know that if I do.......

MedJet is a great idea and I signed up for it on my last trip to Zimbabwe/Zambia. However, it is my understanding that MedJet only picks you up from a significant size airport and not from the bush. With this in mind, is there extra insurance and/or service I should sign up for before I head back to Zimbabwe in August? I have heard of MARS in Zimbabwe. What do they cover (different then MedJet) and what is the cost to cover a 10 day trip? Is it worth getting MedJet & MARS combined? Would someone at Gracy Travel know about this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Tim

On references from several agents and my travel booking agency, I got a policy "just in case". My CSA travel insurance covered my airfare and daily rate deposits, provided airline life, and both medical and emergency medical evacuation. Cost was reasonable for $244 for my 3 week trip to Namibia.
