In several times operators working in Africa were attacked by cocrodiles ,ill tell one of the times.
During the operation Coolige ,dropping the Cuito River 25-26 August 1987.After placing the charges in the river under heavy fire Major Wilkes a recce diverwasattacked by a cocrodilethe reptile clamped jaws around a fin and ripped it off ,the mayor scaped ,then when they were swimming in the surface to conserve oxygen ,a huge corodile slip up unseen from the depths ,clamped its great jaws on SGTBeukman and dgragged him beneath the surface.Keeping his head the sgt. put on his mask and stabbed the reptile several times both of them survived and after an evasion were collected by an helicopter .AN INCREDIBLE VALOUR DEMOSTRATED BY THE RECCES ONEMORE TIME.After this incident the SAarmy tested several cocrodile repelents most based in ligth and sound.Juan

I know the story VERY well, and it is true. A lot of people were taken in that war by crocs, on both sides, and the Hippo's pitched in as well.

How do you know about this history? It is not very well known, but very interesting.....

Thats the reason they are called "special ops", in any army, most never are known beyond a small group.

I know this because Errol Lambretchs an exsoldier turned PH sent me the book Silent War by Peter Stiff ,.While serving in an argentine scout unit met seveal officers who operated with SA special operators i have a great respect for them .Juan

Guillermo Amestoy a well known gunsmith,shooter and hunter brougth me this book after been hunting with Errol in Namibia.
The KOEVOET was a very effective police SF they used the bushmen with great succes to track swapo terrorists and hunt them from the casspirs and walking .Juan
