Ladies and Gentlemen,

Due to the fact that rhinos seem to be in the spotlight right now - sadly, for all the wrong reasons. I thought it might be better if we had a seperate Forum for this subject.

I have already setup this Forum, and have moved some of the threads on that subject to that Forum.

I will try to find all the relevant threads and move them.

I am currently sitting in a mountain hut high in the Bavarian mountains, with a raging thunder and lightning storm in full swing. And my Internet connection is not being very reliable.

We are enjoying a hiking break with the kids before the school starts next week. Yesterday was our first hiking day, and managed to do about 10 Ks of hiking up and down the mountains.

Great exercise for our safari to Tanzania in 4 weeks time.

Walter refused to come along.

He said "What are we going to do up the mountains?"

"We will be hiking"
"On foot?"
"Yes. normally that is how people hike"

"You are all mad. Anyway, I need to build up my energy for Africa. You, Roy and Alan always make me walk for MIIIILES for no reason at all. So I am going to rest, and get ready for my safari. Anyway, it will be nice not to see you for a few days. I can do with the peace and quiet without you bothering me all the time"

Yesterday I had an SMS from him "I hope the girls do not miss me too much. Have you managed to break any part of your anatomy yet?"

"The girls are fine, and Hessa has bought you a Ledder Houssen. She said it perfect for you to take to Africa! We went on a tobogan today. Only a 2 kilometer run, and not very fast."

"Try the vertaical tobogan. Head first. If thet do ot have one. Try parasailing like you did before. May be without the para part of it"

I am not too sure how answer him, so I will let him simmer for a few days.

He gets really mad when he does not hear from me.

I keep telling you to write the book, Saeed! Very entertaining!!

German's are in my bad books right now.

We are together with friends. An Englishman married to a German. We got to a fork in the hiking trail. We asked the German lady to tell us which route we should be take. She looked at the sign, looked at the map, and announced:

"I think we should take this route. It looks easier"

Off we went. A couple of Ks later, it looked like the route was the worst!

We had to drop almost 1000 meters, going through mud slides, broken rocks, broken wooden bridges, broken wooden paths, and you name it. I forgot about everyone, and just got hold of my daughter Hessa's hands, and tried to stay on our feet. We could hear screaming and crashing behind us. But we could not see much because of the very thick forrest.

We got to the bottom. Which was not our destination. We were supposed to go to a restaurant on another mountain. But, we seem to have ended up down in the village!

Now we had to make any hike, upwards, of 3 more Ks!

Eventually we got there, after a 10 kilometer hike. Going back took us about about 2 hours, and a 4 K hike. Instead of 6 hours and 10 K!

As you can imagine, she was on anyone's good books!

So now Alan will have his own forum!
