I was sent this video, and thought this may be something that shows how stupid man can be as well as how lions can bold

well, what to say about this sort of video. Glad that it was caught on tape. It does illustrate how foolish some things people do are. Like the grizzly guy that got eaten just a year or two back (or is my memory faulty). they just should not be doing what they are doing. sad that the lion is killed for doing what comes naturally. It also looked like the lion was in the middle of eating.

Definitely the guys own fault. thanks for posting the video.

I had to think about posting it for a bit. I think I would hope it was viewed as an example of what not to do and to remind us of the respect we should observe for these animals we hunt

This video is an infamous fake that's been making the rounds on the internet for quite some time. That's a good thing since it means a real person wasn't actually eaten by a lion.

I understand the lion was interviewed by Oprah and when asked "what did he taste like?" the lion replied....."Chicken".

I've seen the first part of this film, where the guy gets out of his car and approaches the lions. In that un-edited sequence, it's pretty clear the film is not faked. The lions jump him and chomp until he quits moving. It's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen anybody do.

I had not seen this part of the film before.

By the look of the vehicles and there clothes it looks like this happened in the 70's or 80's, it also looks like in the middle of the viewing there's a section of his own footage as he gets hammered moving in.
PS, I don't think a 470 would have helped him in such a foolish place.{ WANKER..}

Trust me this video is a fake. It's actually quite famous because it is very well-done. Just do some research and you'll find out what I mean.

FAKE! Anybody that is supposedly getting chewed by lions isn't going to get up and essentially walk without help into the back seat of that old '64 Ford.

That dummy looked pretty "upright" and blanket wrapped as it was shoved into the back seat of that Ford. It was not walking.

That was a pretty odd way to load a corpse however, so it must have been a pretty light mannequin to be so easily stood up and poked across the back seat of the car.

Without doing any research, I vote FAKE.

Really curious, fake or not. Have seen the many photos lately, bear eating man, shark catching helicopter, etc. but this looked sort of realy. Where can it be researched to define as fake. Also, where is part of video showing man getting attacked at beginning? Just morbidly curious.

Two teams getting out of the fords, working the lions from outside-in with .458s would of been cool.

If it was real I believe you'd have seen one single film clip in staed of all the cuts and different camera angles. Looked like a Hollywood production.

Gentlemen,
I believe the footasge is real. this happened back in the 70's in C.A.R. (If memory serves me right) This footage was part of a "shocking" documentary I once saw at a friends house round about mied-80's. The documentary had been banned for commercial viewing as it was all about things "shocking" caught on tape.

The footage here has been shortened, hence the "clipping". The unedited version showed the whole sequence as filmed by other by-standers and showed the guy get out of the car and walk towards the lionness and then a male coming up and hitting him from behind. Other scenes in that documentary showed "head hunters" in South America catching and slaughtering Amazonian Indios. There was also footage of cannibalism, etc. as I said, it was a documentary about things shocking!

The action of the lions, and the eyes don't seem to indicate they are eating on a manikin. They seem to be wired like they just made a kill.

If it is a fake, can you provide a link to a site that debunks it? I checked SNOPES.com and also the other internet legend and folklore site at About.com and couldn't find anything about it. What did you look for? I typed in Lion attack, lion eats man, and several other combinations. The closest I got was the story about the mule attacking the mountain lion.

Where is all the blood? I see no blood on the lions muzzles and mouths, unlike every other lion I've seen eating...

It looks more to me like they are eating meat that has been slaughtered previously, and thus is not gushing with fresh blood. All the lions I recall seeing feeding, have ripped open the abdominal cavity straight away to get to the tasty bits. Which is quite messy!

= Fake.

Gentlemen

A very good reminder that animals are wild and not like in Walt Disney's utterly pathetic productions.
