Buffalo, hippo and maybe Elaine. Not really set on the animals, just want to experience Tanzania.

I'm still hunting for her. That is what happens when you don't have your glasses on.

If its Buffalo and Hippo you're after, you shouldn't have too much of a problem in any of the mentioned Blocks; I would however prefer K3 or K4 if I had the choice.

If Eland is on your wish list you really ought to consider the drier periods, i.e. September/November.

Elaine can be pretty elusive unless you try in the local villages. Big Grin

We have one of the camp staff who thinks he is quite the ladies man.

He never stopped suggesting that we go to Mbuga, the closest village, to have some fun.

Just him and me, as me and him talk about nothing but women!

I have no wish to go to Mbuga, or anywhere else, for those women, and he apparently has good connections too.

So I put all the blame on Alan and Rene not allowing me to go.

He had plans, that we can leave after dinner, and be back early in the morning before breakfast!

I had to tell him I need some sleep, he said I can sleep in the truck on the way there and back.

He even offered to take a bed for me on the back of the truck! clap

Mbuga is a shithole of note. I stayed in the guest house there in 2012 and paid about $1.50 for a room, which I think was overpriced for what you got.

The rooms for $1.00 come with bed-lice, so you must have had the privilege of the executive suite whose bed sheets are put out in the sun daily. Big Grin

I am not if this happened with my friend Yasin, the Mbuga master.

We have a large living tent in which we gather and have our meals, I am sure many of you are familiar with similar tents.

At the back it has a small partition in which there is a fridge and an assortment of glasses and plates etc.

It has zippers all around, at at night it is completely zipped up to stop any animals going inside.

Staff normally come around 5, and open it and get ready for coffee before breakfast.

I tend to wake up rather early, and normally find something to do in my tent.

One day I decided to go the mess tent before 5.

It was all zipped up close.

I opened it from the front, and went inside and cl0sed the zipper.

A few minutes later I could hear the kitchen staff lighting the fire fir the coffee, and coming in from the back.

The tent was in total darkness, and our coffee boy had a small headlight, which was not that bright.

I had me back to him as he was making sure the breakfast table was set properly.

He came in several times, and never noticed me.

Eventually I thought I will make myself known to him, and cleared my throat!

He went ballistic!

His eyes looked bigger than dinner plates, and I just laughed so much my throat ached!

Apparently after that day the first thing he did coming inside the tent Check in anyone is there!
