My wife understands that I have a passion for Africa, my double four seventy and hunting Ellie that is only exceeded by my love for her, she treated me to “Mahohboh” by Ron Thompson. I must confess that this was the first book of his that I read, I thought it was good. Then I received Ron’s first book of his planned series, called “God Created Man the Hunter” (An early anniversary present) WHAT A READ!! Unbelievably as good as the writings of Jim Corbett and other famous “old timers”. Ron is only printing a limited run of 1,000 copies, if you enjoy Africa as I do, don’t delay sign up for the series, you will not be disappointed. To think that Ron’s story took place in my life time and I nearly (but failed to) immigrate to Rhodesia, if only I knew then what I knew now. Must stop, time to pour a Scotch and return to the Leopard in the hills, night lights and gin traps. | ||
