Steve, This is a little off topic but when we were in Botswana this last year the PH had just received 3 very nice motion sensitive cameras to put at water holes. Through the first day we mounted all 3 cameras at different pans. The cameras themselves as well as the fastening straps seemed to be quite sturdy. Well in 2 days hyenas and elephants had thrashed all 3. In one case the camera was completely gone. I guess the Botswana game is camera shy. Actually the theory was that the flash got the game PO'd. I saw a TV show where they put up motion activated film cameras to film tigers in India. The elephants destroyed everyone of them. You would see some nice footage of tigers, then some footage of an elephant approaching the camera and then it went blank. They thought the sound of the camera may have angered the elephants (didn't seem to bother the tigers). Regards, Terry Msasi haogopi mwiba [A hunter is not afraid of thorns]

http://www.sirmailorder.ca/show_prod.php?product_id=2045900&cat_id=10&subcat_id=37&PHPSESSID=&PHPSESSID= Steve, I know a PH who has good luck with these trail timers for patterning difficult leopards. Hope this helps.

if it is any help we've used them on leopard several times and they are a big help getting some sleep at night. We'd set them a few yards down the leopards trail and we found out that the cat would usually come in within 20 minutes of the same time each night. Sure did help to get some sleep when you know they are coming in at 7 PM instead of waiting for them until dawn.
